Title Pending - An Unfinished Card Game
So a number of us were talking in IRC about the idea of a ludicrously unfinished card game.

The basic idea is that every card is incomplete and the game went through a number of drastically different development stages before being finally cancelled. The result is that there are a lot of cards that are missing stats and/or part of their text, and no fixed terminology. Gameplay consists of attempting to play it anyways, trying to combine unfinished texts together or defining stats according to other cards. On the whole it's one big glorious mess.

So, this is a thread for trying to make the rules for using cards together a bit more concrete. Also, people can feel free to just post cards, because it would be very difficult for any card to be incompatible with the concept.

Here's a random sample card I came up with. The general idea is that you'd fill in the places with obviously missing information with information from other cards (maybe even attaching cards to one "main card"?)

I stuck it under a spoiler because I accidentally made it too big.

Your link broke somewhere along the line, Scott.

So I'm thinking the basic rules would be, you'd have blanks and could fill them in with either a phrase from another card's text, the name of another card, or a number on another card. With some kind of indicator of which is allowed.

The main issue is starting the game; presumably the cards we use for filling in the blanks would have to be "in play", but we'd need some way of putting cards in play so that you can do things on the first turn. Some kind of "starting set" in the middle that can't actually be played but can be used to grab phrases might work. Maybe with restrictions on how long it can be used for to keep the game from getting too stable.

Sounds like Calvinball with cards. I love it.

But what kind of card game? Role playing? Battle cards? Something different?

Yes.
