You are Nopor Puss, the Master of Pointlessness. You constantly strive to do the most pointless thing you can think of.

You have decided that it is very pointless to go on a quest for the Inflatable Amulet of Pomposity, so that is what you are doing. Your quest begins in a small chamber in a temple. The Inflatable Amulet of Pomposity rests on a pedestal in this chamber.

What will you do?

I decided to do images for this one, to make it a little distinct from the original. My plan for images is to take screenshots in RPG Maker 2000. This is going to somewhat limit the things I can display easily, but I'll see what I can do.

You do a backflip and wind up slightly behind where you were standing. You trigger a pressure-sensitive switch upon landing, which causes flames to surround the pedestal.

As pointless as it would be to set yourself on fire, it seems that these are actually magical flames which serve as a forcefield. Try as you might, you cannot step into the flames.

You are quite sure that you can find a way to shut off the flames in this room, so rather than trying to find it, you decide to leave the temple and re-enter it from the back.



As you leave, the flames go out. This must be one of those "everything resets when you leave the room" puzzles.



You take a long and convoluted route to the back entrance of the temple. You are nearly there when you come face-to-face with a GiantMonst on the debris-ridden road leading behind the temple.

You decide it would be pointless, having come all this way, to take an even more convoluted route back to where you started.



The ferocious GiantMonst doesn't seem to want to let you go that easily, but you have a headstart and it's not especially fast.



You make your way to the back of the pedestal. You're disappointed to see the flames gone. You hear some loud roaring in the next room.

As far as you know, the GiantMonst is still behind the temple. Which means it would be pointless to throw the amulet forward, so you do that! Now not only will it go further away from you, it probably won't hit the GiantMonst!



The GiantMonst is confused by this strange temple. Every room looks different, and there doesn't seem to be any reason for it.



Ow! Something hits the GiantMonst.



The GiantMonst is angry now. Leaving the stupid thing on the ground, it heads in the direction it was thrown to find out who did that.



Oh, look! You didn't manage to escape the GiantMonst after all! How delightful, that means it was even more pointless than you thought to retrace your steps!

I would have continued this sooner, but I was having trouble connecting to some websites this morning. MSPA was one of them.

Get keyblade and wear it as a hat.

With a ferocious GiantMonst around, it's pointless to waste time, so you do. You pick up an oversized key that's lying around and put it on your head. As you do, the GiantMonst cautiously advances; your strange antics seem to be frightening it.

The chest is locked, and you haven't the faintest idea where you could possibly find a key to open it with. You decide to pointlessly attempt to open it anyways. The GiantMonst nervously takes another step forward.

...but it cannot see you, as you are hiding behind that pillar of flames, which will burn the Monst.

The flames are gone, the pedestal isn't that tall, and you're not standing behind it now anyways. So you have no reason to believe this. Therefore, you do! You decide to run in front of the pedestal so the GiantMonst can clearly see you. Even though you step directly on the pressure plate, though, the flames don't activate; you must need more force to trigger it. The GiantMonst is confused again and stops; you could easily catch it by surprise if you attacked now.

And since you could easily catch it by surprise, you instead run off and ride the chest like a mechanical bull. Actually, you've never ridden a mechanical bull before, so you're not really sure how to ride one, but you try anyways.



The GiantMonst, frustrated by your pointless actions, goes into a blind rage and lunges forward! It runs across the switch.



The GiantMonst stops just before it rams headfirst into the pedestal.



Unfortunately, that doesn't help when the switch activates. Apparently there's a slight delay.



The GiantMonst is slain.



Because you have destroyed a dangerous monster, which could potentially have harmed you or somebody else, you have done something non-pointless. As a punishment, your Point Meter increases by 2. Something will happen when it reaches 100, and you intend to avoid that for as long as possible.
