We chat about videogames and videogame accessories.
RE: We chat about videogames and videogame accessories.
Can we at least change the title to "We chat about videogames and videogame accessories 2" to confuse new people into looking for the first one?

I leave that to the inestimable Ed's discretion, Epamy.

I don't feel clever enough to come up with a good title, throw your suggestions please.

I'd suggest referencing the subtitle of the second game in a series, but the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Simon's Quest.

Why not "The Wonderful 101(+)"

Then they switched it to vBulletin to get rid of hiccups like that. They kept the 100 page rule out of tradition and so "things wouldn't get too daunting for new people."
They’ve cited that reason every once in a while afterwards, though—they still experienced lots of slowdown just before the Upgrade From Hell I could tell when the comic updated just from the lags and overload messages, not even kidding. It was nothing quite like the outright sputtering to a halt problems of auld, I’m sure. (And judging from the crustiest links that can be found, I’m also pretty sure it was phpBB: The Solution of 2002, Today™.)

I make my statements about vB based on vB; there is some vB4 support suggesting one should avoid letting threads get too long for performance reasons, though their idea of when to do that is more like 200–400 pages.

it should be "hoo hoo", not "ho ho"

unless he is Mario Hill Claus

in which case the image should be updated to reflect that

It will be relevant in a couple of months don't worry. I don't even remember how i made those letters.

Minecraft is still pretty cool, guys. Also I may have found some peeps who have never played Black Mesa. More on this as it develops.

I've got so many games from humble bundles and I've played so few of them.

We should constantly talk about a third chat thread and then just let the second one go into the thousands

(I haven't played any half life)

RE: We chat about videogames and videogame accessories.
Same here, i did play some half life 2 though but i didn't get very far. Is it worth to start playing from the second one? 'Cause that's the only one i have along with some "Lost Coast" thing and the Black Mesa remake doesn't really interest me.

Also, my desire to play games from indie bundles died when i decided to start off with Stacking (it was terrible), i guess i should at least try out Psychonauts...

Psychonauts is definitely worth a play for the script and art direction alone, but I hear the control scheme suffers on the PC versus the XBox.

RE: We chat about videogames and videogame accessories.
Also, the Mac port of Psychonauts is just unacceptably bad. It's full of completely obvious problems that you can't play through without noticing. For example, the textures for fire and particle effects never display as anything other than wireframes.

Is it one of those lazy Cider ports? Those are awful.

I can confirm that Psychonauts plays pretty terribly on a keyboard. It's a 3D platformer, and using arrow keys over a control stick means you don't have fine control over your movements, which means jumping around is difficult and awkward, and you have to do a lot of that. It also makes it difficult to aim your mental blasts while moving, although I don't remember exactly why. I think it's because you have fine control over the camera, but not over your character.

I tried playing the PC version and barely managed to struggle through the fight with the giant Censor on the surface of the cube in Sasha's mind, which was easy for me when I played it on Xbox, but an absolute nightmare when I had to walk across corners with four directional keys while the gravity kept changing.

And then I lost my save file and had to do the fight over, which is when I quit.

Anyway, get a USB controller.

I've been wanting to find a server to play on for a while now. I used to have one but then all my friends got bored of it and I... didn't.

also I still really want to play psychonauts.

i found that aiming shots was easier once i figured out you could just lock onto things

i found that it was five times easier once i got enough psi rank to get the reflecting shot upgrade which bounces off of so many targets that you only need to fire like three times and you'll clear the room

RE: We chat about videogames and videogame accessories.
Yeah, well, I don't want the game to get so easy that I don't need to play it, I want the game to be playable.
