Hmm, something doesn't quite feel right. It almost feels as if someone is watching you. But that'd be silly, your bedroom is world renowned/your friends make fun of it for being The Most Impenetrable.

Stop being so prejudiced! Maybe it wants your help! Honestly, you should know better than to judge solely by appearances.

You take deep breaths forcing yourself to calm down. You were always told that you should never leap to conclusions without knowing all the facts. Plus what would your old uncle Herman say if he knew you were judging people based on horribly monstrous they looked?

"Hello there." You say. "How can I help you?"

In your haste to escape the horrible monster you forgot to grab your slumber snorkel, not that you will be going to sleep any time soon anyway. You cower beneath the covers for a while, waiting for the monster to make its move. Some ten minutes later you start to wonder why you are not dead yet.

>Take just a tiny peek out from under the covers.

The monster thinks that if you can't see it then it can't see you either

He didn't say he was going to eat you, he said he was going to eat your sleep. So now you're just suffering from INTENSE insomnia, which will probably eventually kill you.

Fumble around for the light switch.

>Begin asphyxiating without your snorkel.

> No, no, no. He's going to kill you. When you sleep.

> Auuuuugh don't be a coward and punch his ugly face!

> Auuuuugh don't be a coward and punch his ugly face!

> But walk up to him with the blanket over your head, so that he can't see you.

>Jump out, shout, and make scary faces to drive the monster away.

He didn't say he was going to eat you, he said he was going to eat your sleep.

Well yeah. You already knew this. The monster that stands in your room as you speak, offering you warm glasses of milk, is not some bizarre terror from beyond the realms of your imagination. It is a known threat, something you have spent a not unreasonable time worrying about.



It is a somnivore. They take many sizes and shapes and apparently colours. They’re beasts drawn to mortal bedrooms to consume sleep itself. While at first glance this may not sound as deathly as if it were there to tear you limb from limb, it is perhaps worse. If you had the misfortune to slip into slumber, though god knows how that would happen with that monster staring at you, then you would simply never wake up. It’s said that in the days it would take you to starve, as the creature loomed over your sleeping form you would go through awful torturous nightmares that by the end would have you begging for an end.



You weren’t joking when you said you had The Most Impenetrable bedroom. It has never failed you… until now.
