We, uh, we probably shouldn't touch anything Cassie didn't specifically mention as okay, but on the other hand, it couldn't hurt to just LOOK at what else we can access, right?

There's no way that can possibly go wrong for us, is there?

Talk to Loppe. Use their name because we are polite. Say that you will have the thing. What was it? The Ordinary? The thing where you order the thing that you already had all the other times before because it's the thing that you know they know that you like and you don't have confidence to adventure in menuland.

I liked the chocolate orange idea a bit. I remember thick shakes drinks with the creamy ice and lots of tops on things. Top things. Toppings?

I don't think they strapped themselves to science rockets. No. That's rocket science spelt in disaster! They are put in an airy science can with life-keeping science machines. Then bolted science missiles to the science can which flies it to the Moon. They stepped on the Moon in special science suits, and returned home alive. Yes.

Ooh. Ooh. Beast Hatchers 3 sounds fun. New Game! New Game.
Play! Play.
Ooh. Ooh. Adorable! Awesome! Awe.
I wonder if I could get a super kaiju that can turn entire counties to craters.

Yeah I'm on it, just needed a sec. Bit dizzy from standing up from that chair too quick.

Anyway, I'm heading over to the counter now. If you have trouble with the laptop because you're computer-illiterate or whatever, feel free to ask. I don't know what kind of tech your Worldline had, so if you're confused, try not to mess with anything. Though, come to think of it, you're supposed to be made out of bits of soul and soul-glue, right? So I guess maybe you might've come from more than one Worldline? In that case, just... try to listen to the parts of yourself that know what they're doing? I'll try to answer questions, but I should probably switch focus when I get to the counter. Hard enough to walk and do this think-talk thing to you, without accidentally talking out loud. And if that happens, I'm liable to make this Loppe kid think I'm a weirdo. And if I had to explain that I'm playing host to a Second Soul in here, or possessed by a symbiotic spirit, or whatever this is, I'm genuinely not even sure I know enough to explain it without freaking them out. Heck, I'm not sure how I'm not freaking out. It'd probably be a lot freakier to someone who hadn't studied Spirits and Mana Dynamics before. And I'm not sure if the barista is old enough that he'd be able to enroll. He's tall enough that he might be a student here, though his horns are pretty small still? Anyway, I've never seem him in any of my classes, so I'd be willing to bet he's just a Townie. As for that chocolate orange shake idea or whatever, I'll see if they have anything like that. I'm still not sure if I'm up for that today, but we'll see. I'll probably be at the counter for a bit, so if you come up with particular stuff you want to try, let... uh, let me... uh... sorry, still dizzy. Like I said earlier, I haven't eaten since... since yesterday. And I plan to relax here for a while. So we can probably... probably can order a few things. I'm giving the menu a look as I walk, and... uh... there's things... ... ... baked... ... ... ... small... ... ... cheese... ... ... ... griddle... ... ... green... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... clean... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

It looks like the world from before. Limbo. But there are no lights. No friends.

Nothing.

...except...

You do see something. Just like your Cassie-You said. It glows in a way you can see. Like a person. But also different.

You remember that a Spirit should be able to sense concentrations of Mana. Even if it is a "Manatech," and not alive.

Compad. Laptop. Some of your You knows what these are. Tools that think. Tools that talk.

But how does one talk to them?

Perhaps you could feel it's thoughts, like you sometimes can?

Perhaps if you touch it, something will happen...

You think it may be a little late for that now.

You already touched the thing. You are now somewhere purple. There is another person here, but they are an Anime and do not actually exist.

You do not know what an Anime is. But you remember that they are embarrassing and fake.

This purple place and the Anime that lives here are... familiar? You think it is more familiar to your Cassie-Self, but you remember it too. You can't seem to hear the Cassie part of you right now, though, so you can't ask. But... you feel like you are in a Laptop. And you feel like some of your You may remember things about them. How to make them think, and where to find their words.

The words... you find the words behind a face. Not the big purple one, but the little one in a box above.

Something tells you this face is not the sort that would mind if you lick it. So you do this.

The face in a box does not mind.

It also does not taste like any feelings or memories, the way your blue spirit-friend's face did.

This face tastes like... a conversation?

2 new messages from Moondog (Kiri)Show

You remember this conversation, with newly-remembered additions. You also remember that you can talk back, if you would like to.

You also also hear another conversation. Behind the first conversation, somehow.

...should be somewhat familiar, for those of you who have studied Mana Dynamics in your other courses. The Branching Worldline model of Cosmology, also known as Multiversal Space or the Many-Worlds Conjecture, seeks to unify the parallel universe "Planes" of Classical Astral Theory with the Gaian model of Physics, along these lines. As mentioned in last weeks lecture, there is a 4th Axis of space, analogous to Down and Up, Left and Right, or Back and Forward. The directions of the 4th Axis can be thought of as "Above" or "Outward", and "Below" or "Inward" respectively. From our perspective, movement along this 4th Axis might seem to extend in past the smallest atom, or out beyond the entire universe itself. Of course, in 4-Dimensional terms, one would simply be rising above or sinking below one 3D Universe, and moving perpendicularly into another equal-sized, parallel 3D Universe. As an analogy, imagine that a sheet of paper is a 2D Universe. If you stacked several sheets of paper on top of one another, you would have many stacks of equally sized 2D universes, layered up and down parallel to each other along a 3rd Axis. A beetle caught between these sheets would be restricted to that 2D Universe, unable to move up or down, and incapable of seeing into the sheets of paper above or below them... but by biting a hole up or down into an adjacent sheet of paper, they could...

The second speaker is a different person. Far away, muffled, and hard to hear, let alone understand. But if you tried, you believe you could find the way to where they are, to hear them better...

It's Learn Time. Something something lick the... hyperlink? Those underlines seem familiar. Usually when I messed with computer sorcery before it worked like this.

Also, open a .txt and transcribe the lecture (badly). Even better, open some stock image editing program and a. use the worst font and b. use the worst combination of colors possible. Possibly even c. create terrorrific diagrams that make even the worst professional doodle designers(?) retch in fear. Christen the forsaken file "lickture". Function over form all the way.

Better yet, split-screen the hell out of everything. You are never truly efficient until you have 4 windows open at a time all the time as well as having thirty-seven tabs open at once.
