You are in a room. There are four walls, carpeted floor, and a glass ceiling. Through the ceiling you perceive the four walls of a larger room surrounding this one, and another glass ceiling, higher up, outside of which are the walls of a yet larger room. There are a lot more glass ceiling past the third one over that larger room, but you perceive that somewhere past a long succession of similar ceilings implying still larger rooms, there is one ceiling at the very top which is not made of glass.

In the room with you is a COUCH and a FLATSCREEN TV bolted to a ROLLING CART. There is a CLOSED DOOR on the wall opposite where you are standing.

You push the power button, but the TV is not plugged in. You cannot see any OUTLETS in this room, either. But it does have a plug to plug in; if you can ever find an OUTLET you'll be able to plug it in and probably turn it on.

You try the DOOR, but it is indeed locked. You don't think you can force it, and you have nothing to pick locks with. It has a keyhole a short ways beneath the doorknob.

Ack, sorry, I didn't mean to break replying! I'll just leave it very abbreviated so there won't be any problems. I think everyone probably gets the point that the title is arbitrarily long anyway.

You rifle around between the COUCH's cushions, and eventually find TWO (2) QUARTERS and a KEY. This KEY is a UNIQUE object, so it is automatically assigned the name "KEY 1". UNIQUE objects can be renamed on command, but new names must contain the identifying word for the object's general type (in this case, "key").

You try pushing the prongs of the TV's plug up against the key every way you can and pushing the power button repeatedly, but nothing seems to come of it.


You're not strong enough to pick it completely up by yourself, but you are able to tilt it upward to see what's underneath. There's a bunch of HAIR or possibly SHED FUR piled up under the couch, but nothing that looks useful, not even an OUTLET for the TV. (Not that you've got any way to keep up with a bunch of HAIR/FUR anyway)

You bite into the MONKEY, but it's too hard for your teeth to penetrate. Also it's made of metal, which tastes disgusting, so you pull it back out of your mouth.

You put a portion of the TV's cord in your mouth and immediately pull it out, regretting the action. Really the only positive thing about the taste of THAT is that it took the taste of the MONKEY out of your immediate memory.

You toss the MONKEY in the general direction of the TV but miss. Embarrassed at yourself, you go pick the MONKEY back up again.

You try inserting the MONKEY into the DOOR'S keyhole, but it doesn't seem to even go all the way in. It feels like there's a downward slope inside of it, which the MONKEY just doesn't seem shaped correctly for.
...On closer inspection, the bit of metal plate between the doorknob and keyhole actually has a faint embossing that says "25¢".


It should be clear to anyone that you can't swallow the MONKEY whole; you'd just choke on it!

You try bopping and pushing and pulling the TV; you don't really accomplish much of anything.

You know your teeth can't cut it; you try using your fingernails and the QUARTERS, but the MONKEY is just made of far too sturdy of materials for any of those things to cut it.
