edit: come to think of it, as soon as i search "yams", the most prevalent search results are "what is the difference between a sweet potato and a yam"

I always thought that yams referred to ALL potatoes, in other words, yam and potato were 100% synonyms

but looking it up i guess yams are just one kind of potato, and a different one from sweet potatoes

Yams are a knobby root vegetable that tastes like a hypertomato when you roast 'em, they're aces

Also, credit, boiled beets sound disgusting! You need fried or roasted beets to have the true beet experience. The pleasant one, anyway.

I also recommend a bit of sea salt, or coarse salt if sea salt isn't available.
