Eagle Tim demands to play video games, but not just any video games, no sir.

Eagle Tim wants to play video games using the cursed, jewel-encrusted golden controller of the dreadful dragon Fo'ogel.

No other game controller will do.

The trouble is, Eagle Tim doesn't have the controller. Where is it?

Hmm. Where was the controller last seen? Northern Adminstria? The southern Bawklands? The free city states of Cosh-Yocado? Or the border region of Chatland, keeping the wild untamed Bawklands at bay?
Quiet. Good for an unusual opinion. Doesn't talk much.

The controller is the prize for Dragon Fo'ogel's super epic tournament, but Eagle Tim is not that good at competitive games :(

In fact, it's been sighted in all those places due to some sort of promotion. There are posters up on most Fo'ogel's game stores.

You head to the local Fo'ogel's store to see if you can get your hands on one of these controllers.

Inside the store, you ask the attendant whether any of the new cursed, jeweled, golden controllers are available for purchase.

Unfortunately, it is only being offered as a grand prize in some sort of competitive physical sport tournament.

But you hate competition!! And sports are gross! How are you ever going to get your talons on that sweet, sweet, cursed gaming accessory?

There's only one solution: bribe the Sportball Authority into drastically changing the rules of the game so you have a chance at winning it.

Bribing sounds like a good solution, even though you're a good bird and wouldn't normally resort to something like it under normal circumstances. However, you only have some spare change which is roughly the same amount needed for registering in the tournament thingie. Perhaps there's another way?

Register and then discover your FIERCE RIVAL has gone with the bribe-the-committee plan and changed the sport to disadvantage you even more.

Suddenly you hear a voice behind you that you know far too well...

"Hey dork, whatever for you're signing up for the Sportsball Tournament?"

"Maybe you confused it with the Loser Tournament instead? That's more up your alley, loser."

Gosh darn that Falcon Jones!

Eagle Tim: In a fit of pride and pique, tell Fal-Tronn Jones that if he thinks you'd never win, he should bet on it.

Fal-Tronn Jones: agree to the bet and make sure Eagle Tim has to give up the keys to his late Grand-pap's Semi-Abandoned Community Hall if when he loses.

Falcon Jones realized, with grim resignation, that he had done it again.

All he had wanted to do was cheer up poor Eagle Tim, who was clearly having a crisis of confidence. But as always, he had tried to punch it up, say something playful - but he had misjudged how it would come across, yet again.

He cursed himself inwardly. He would fix this. At the very least, he could pay for Eagle Tim's entry fee.

"Tell you what, LOSER," Falcon Jones said, laughing almost reflexively as he realized he was doing it again. "Why don't I cover your registration fee? You can pay me back with the look on your face after I beat you!"

Eagle Tim grew more and more upset, and Falcon Jones groaned inwardly. Why did he have so much trouble with this? Why was it so hard to tell people he cared?

Fal-Tronn Jones: agree to the bet and make sure Eagle Tim has to give up the keys to his late Grand-pap's Semi-Abandoned Community Hall if when he loses.

Angrily, Eagle Tim shouted back at his tormentor.

"If you're so convinced you're going to win, why don't we have a bet on it? If I win, you give me, uh, two hundred Hawkbucks!"

"Two hundred?" Falcon Jones cackled, filled with immediate regret as he did. "That's getting off cheap. But sure, why not? And when I win, you can hand over the keys to that community hall you inherited!"

He'd meant it as a gesture of gratitude, that he'd help Eagle Tim get the place back into shape. But the words had come out completely wrong. Falcon Jones felt so ashamed, and yet he couldn't bring himself to break his facade.

And so he handed over the money to pay the fee, then marched out of the store, a mask of arrogance hiding his deepest fears.

Not that Eagle Tim knew any of this. All he could think of was how much he HAD to win now, no matter how many sports were involved.

So of course, the next thing he did was...

I mean this isn't helping very much but at least you found a pretty good meme to send your friends later. It's very embarrassing to cry and laugh at the same time though.

Maybe what the cute little doggie meme says is actually true and you're really awesome in your own way, at the very least you should investigate what this contest is about...

The rules for Sportball are simple. There's a big bucket of balls with the names of various sports written in them, and the referee pulls one out at random to decide what sport is played next. The sport changes whenever someone gets a point.

Of course, the hard part is that you don't know what any of the sports are until the game actually starts. Also you're bad at pretty much every sport.
