The year is 2010. You're really jazzed about Inception, you think the iPad will probably fail within a year, and posting MS paint drawings on an internet forum still seems like a viable way to spend your spare time. One day, during a rousing game of Rock Band 3, you hear the sound of Power by Kanye West - someone's calling you on your flip phone, which is still sort of outdated but not super embarrassing yet! Who could it be?

It's your friend Julian. He says he's in a little trouble and he needs your help!

So Akumu, we've decided that the best way of getting our revenge is to continue to flood this thread with posts so that you have to spend as much time suffering through the judgement process as we do through the "guessing" stage.

I refilled my water jug whilst deciding what music to put on. I've settled for Kiln's 2007 album, Dusker, because it's nice and calm and good music to do things to. I do need to decompress a bit in order to concentrate on my revision, after all.

I'm going through the lubrication theory examples from the lecture notes to make sure I can do them by myself. The first is steady flow in a one-dimensional slider bearing, which shouldn't be too hard.

I did indeed find that the ratio between x-component and the z-component of the force on the slider is of order δ if the aspect ratio is δ. In simple terms: turns out ball bearings work!
