* rule 5 has been violated in spirit a couple of times both of which i think were times when dishonesties were happening so maybe that's something?

I'm getting my spreadsheet up-to-date, and this confuses me somewhat. Does this mean that rule 2 was the only rule this post violated, or is your evaluation in reference to the fact that Fogel's original message passed rule 2 and thus meant to indicate that earthexe's post broke every rule?

Otherwise, rules 1 and 3 have yet to be passed by anyone? We have a handful of posts that pass the others, though...

But time and again, no one could pass all the rules. Indeed, most attempts failed all the rules, and only a scant few could pass the second rule. The other rules seemed intractable, though there were whispers that the spirit of Rule 5 was occasionally respected.

Yet, still, the people tried. Some kept on because they still believed in the promise of riches. Others only persevered because the quest for the rules had become a curse, and the only way to be free of it was to uncover their mystery. And so, for centuries, the rules remained undiscovered.

That was the state of the land when Laurie set out on her own quest for the rules. She was certain she could be the one to succeed where so many had failed. Even so, she knew that this ancient riddle would be far too difficult to decipher unaided, and so she decided to seek out the legendary Space Consortium, home to the greatest minds in all the world.

But would she find any clues to the mysterious rules that had plagued the land for so long? Or would she only find more questions?
