That's funny, but no, she's just delivering something to Marketing.

...Suddenly you consider not listening to the voices in your head.

Nope, the Janitor's right over there, mopping. Thinking the Janitor would have a security feed is silly, why would he need one? Janitors are a strange species. Cleaning the messes they did not make with tools they did not create for a modest pay, making very little interactions with his co-workers. Definitely not as fun as being a receptionist at the front desk.



You deliver the papers to the Marketing department when something strikes you as a little funny. It's sort of bugging you, nagging at you in the back of your head. You stop to consider it for a moment...



There's something strange going on. Something...



This room is boring as hell.

It's just desks and computers in a drab grey and black color. The receptionist desk is much brighter and comfier. Nice little red chairs with many plants, carpeting, portraits, bright lights and such! It's a quaint little room that brings a very nice atmosphere to the company you're representing. If the rest of the building isn't like that, then what's the point? Surely it can't be pleasant to be working on an environment with drab furnishing.

Your mother was a stickler about something called "Fung Shway" that you never really understood as a kid. You're not sure if you even understand it now. You thought it looked dumb all the time and wanted to rearrange things, but she always told you no, she was the only one who could do it or else you'll grow up "disharmonious" or something. You could have done better, you think.

You just like talking to people in a well designed room.

Oh, trust me, you would have. Or at least, when you look back on it, you should have. When you say your mother was a stickler about "Fung Shway", she was really serious about it. As a kid, she kept telling you that interior design won't get you anywhere and you should become a therapist like her. And you did, and you do enjoy psychology, and did dream of becoming a therapist, but you should have become a interior designer.



However, the work got way too complicated for you. When you considered switching majors, you did consider switching to interior design, but your lack of experience and your mother made you chicken out and take a different major. Since then, you've bounced around a lot of jobs, and now that you've got what you hope is a solid job as a secretary, you'd like to stay that way.

As a little girl, you remember carrying conversations with quite a few secretaries while your mother filled out some papers (and kept nagging to the secretary about errors) and you really looked up to them. So you thought you should perhaps be a secretary someday.

You just really like talking to people in peaceful places.

Did I hit a plot hole somewhere? I feel like I did. Making up character backgrounds while you go is bound to have mistakes somewhere.

You don't see any handsome young studs with beards around here, but you do see this guy with the mustache and pensive stare and his sleeves rolled up who kind of looks like if Freddie Mercury and Magnum P.I. had a baby together.



You give him a nice Christmas hat to boost staff morale by bringing Christmas cheer to all!
