The elevator stops at your living floor, first. In the immediate vicinity is your computer and mail tube. You'd have another computer in the lab area, but you drained most of your funds getting this place built in the first place.
Not in view is your kitchen area and your room.

You start by checking the message from Ignacious.

Hey man whats up have you finished that thing yet? You havent told me anything about it at all! Be sure to let me know when youre finished it. Thats not the point though. The flare surfing compo is postponed and Im not sure when its being moved to so Ill keep you posted as to when you can see me beat the rest of the competition. You are still coming, right?

Oh right, he was going to be in that. You'd check to see if your schedule is mostly free in the future, but you're NEVER doing anything, so you think you're good.

The newest message is just an auto-reply sent from the AmInvent forums. You signed up the other day, but they were having server issues or something, so registrations were taking a while to process. Good to know you can finally start talking with people in your interest field.



As for the news feed, you already know what the third one is about, as alluded to by Iggy.

High tides are bad news when your planet's oceans consist of lava, but luckily you aren't anywhere near East Rupture.

That first one though is a bit intriguing. You don't know much about Darthvega, other than the fact that it has a bit of a bad reputation.

Contact with Darthvega unexpectedly lost

The manmade planet of Darthvega has recently stopped contacting our planet of Firim, and it seems many other planets have also lost contact.
Darthvega had been known for starting planetary wars against anything it had come across, attempting to take those planets over, but a few years ago, peace was finally made with the rogue inhabitants, and since then standard interplanetary commerce had been established between them and other planets.

What could this sudden silence mean? Are they back to their old destructive ways, planning something against the universe at large? Or is the situation something more tragic?

An armed team has been sent to investigate. More news as this develops.

You decide to minimize Jazz and connect to your telescope. There's a station for these a few miles away, and you've got it set up there so you can access one of them via your computer.





It opens up to the last spot you were looking at.
