Pokemon Tabletop RPG - It's Aliiiive!
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Sturm and Tori: Natalie speed = 12, Sleipnir speed = 11
Natalie used Pursuit and flew quickly at Sleipnir
AC4: 1d20=17
Damage: 1d8+4+11-7+1(STAB)= 15
Sleipnir takes 15 damage, but you think the move is more designed for a cheap shot before getting swapped out or escaping.

Sleipnir used growl!
AC3: 1d20=19
Natalie's attack was lowered one combat stage!!

Clifton: Riff is recalled into her Pokeball.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
"Good shit! Chase it again! Use Peck attack!"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Yeah, all right, this looks like it's already over.

I'll have Sleipnir use tackle as soon as Natalie's in range, and then move as far to the west as possible, going north or south as necessary.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Natalie swoops over to Sleipnir to Peck him!
AC4: 1d20=7
Damage: 2d6+11-7+1(STAB)=13
The ponyta falls over, fainted!

Tori and Natalie have won the battle!

Natalie gains 240 EXP, and gains a level!

It's getting close to 11:00.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Why, that was his best horse! Sturm is pretty much ready to take a 15-foot step and throw Natalie through a wall or something. He takes a step or two forward, and WAIT

WIS: (1d20-5: 2)

WAIT JUST A GODDAMN MINUTE.

This woman is obviously a seasoned warrior. She was present during the fight with those Team Dimension fellows, almost as if she knew it would happen in advance - and what's more, she's even got a raven following her around!

This is no time for fighting!

Sturm's never met a real, live valkyrie before!

He withdraws Sleipnir to his battle-scarred Pokeball and hurries across the battlefield to shake her hand. If he was to go on an adventure, then clearly the gods wanted him to travel with Tori, and he'd be honored to accept their offer.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Bastion goes to congratulate Tori on the win before Sturm comes up at which point he just sort of stares in awe again.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Raphael's already at the Pokecenter anyhow, so staying there is probably the thing to do. She looks to see if that Trainer with the Raichu is still there.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Clifton follows Raphael and hands the pokeball over to the nurse on duty, mumbling a request to get some more healing.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
"Woah woah woah woah shit-" Tori mutters, as Sturm marches across to probably deck her or something. She's pleasasntly surprised to find a open hand (as opposed to a fist) when the viking lurches to a halt. She reciprocates the handshake, temporarily happy enough at not having the crap beaten out of her to not push for her won wager.

"Yeah, thanks."

She glances aside at Bastion while a very enthusiastic viking almost rips her arm off, and grins nervously and offers a thumbs-up. Natalie just probably prances around doing a victory dance or something. Tori isn't going to go and pat the damn thing on the head and tell it what a good job it did, but she's gotta admit she's impressed.

RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Tori: Natalie does actually seem pretty stoked about having won the battle.

Raphael and Clifton:
PORT TOWN POKEMON CENTER
10:59 AM

No sign of Oak yet. You'd think he'd be here by now. The others haven't quite showed up yet anyways.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Raphael looks around!
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Having made friends with a viking and seeing the time, Tori gets her butt back to the Pokemon centre, reluctant as she is to have to talk to Oak again.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Bastion follows adults like puppy.
Or a child like he is.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
PORT TOWN POKEMON CENTER
11:01 AM

Everybody arrives at the Pokecenter whether they said they did or not because I said so shut up and if their Pokemon are hurt, hand them over to the Nurse.

Oak's voice suddenly comes from next to the counter. You're sure none of you saw him enter.
"Good, you're here! I'll be sure to give you a bit of direction on your journey, so ask any questions you might have. Oh, and I got you all some Trainer Cards!"
He hands each of you a Trainer ID with your name, date of birth, trainer number, birthplace, and... blood type? You don't remember volunteering most of the listed information.

Tori: Your listed hometown is incorrect. Whether it's a mistake or deliberate isn't immediately clear.

Sturm: Your hometown is listed as somewhere in Minnesota, and the year in the D.O.B. field is faded and unclear, but it's only got three digits.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
"Yeah. Did you actually get any decent information off that grunt you held onto?"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
That's okay - Sturm is pretty sure he can't read anyway.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Raphael peers at the Trainer Card in bewilderment. "Um."
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Bastion continues to speak in his excited tone of voice, clutching his new trainer card and holding back tears of unmistakable joy, "IS THIS REAL."
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Clifton checks the back. "Do we get badge cases or ribbon boxes or something, too?"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
"Most Gyms and Contest Halls will give you a storage case for your collection if you don't have one already, so don't you worry about that. As for that Team Dimension fellow, not much was learned. It seemed he was hired on the spot at Spirit Town, given a Poochyena and some instructions along with a few others. Speaking of which..."

Oak pulls out a map of the region.

"If you're looking for Gyms or Contests, they're marked on here. The nearest town is Ale Town, and from there you can head west to Spirit Town, or north to Stout City. Both of them have Gyms."

"If you don't have any other pressing questions, you can get going as soon as possible! I'm sure we'll meet each other again somewhere along the line!"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Raphael shyly raises a hand. "U-um...could you...rate my Pokedex?"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
The hell's a Pokedex?
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Clifton calls his landlord and tells him that he's going to be living on the road for a while so he won't need the apartment anymore, then promptly hangs up.
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
"Um. Hm. Okay, looks like we'll be traveling together for the time being. That's a good thing, I suppose. It can get a bit dangerous traveling alone. So. Uh. Where to now?"
RE: Pokemon Tabletop RPG
Oak notices the Viking, and seems to remember something. He pulls Sturm's Pokedex from a coat pocket and quickly gives an explanation on how it works. The software seems to have been simplified. There are a lot less words and a lot more pictures. It is mentioned that seeing a lot of pokemon using it can potentially make you more powerful. Through knowledge. Speaking of which.
He also mentioned that for every 25 Pokemon seen, or 10 captured, you can use any PC to submit it for a rating, and he'll mark it's completion up a mark, which will award you a level up is a mark of experience that you can surely use somehow.

"Now, as I said you should head to Ale Town first off. From there it's up to you. Either Spirit Town or Stout City are viable options, both having Gyms, or you can try investigating Team Dimension, wherever they might be planning something!"
