GAME START

The famed paranormal investigator Kerfufle Winkelstein set out on a REALLY COOL PARANORMAL HUNT but in order to make money he also was a GUIDE FOR A PUNCH OF PEOPLE. He led them all into a spooky forest. It was full of paranormal things.

The people were all interested in hunting paranormal things (actually that’s a lie not all of them this story is falling appart already) but it’s like REALLY BORING apparently paranormal things are hard to find.

In any case, one night, everybody camped out. But in the morning SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED.

…............................................... .......

….............

….KERFUFLE WINKELSTEIN WAS KILLED.

Nobody actually cared though, really. Until they realized that the dear Kerfufle was their only guide and nobody else knew how to get out of the paranormal forest.

There was a little panicking involved.

Suddenly THE VOICE OF KERFUFLE AROSE.

“Stop screaming.”

HE WAS A GHOST

There was a little more panicking and screaming but not as much because everybody was tired out from the first time around and shit.

A little while later, Kerfufle started explaining.

“I was murdered.”

No shit.

“Some paranormal creatures must’ve snuck into our group and travelled with us all this way. They came into my tent and killed me, goddamn sons of bitches.”

That’s cool. Can you take us out of the forest now?

“What? Don’t you want to avenge me? Look, we still have the same number of people in the PARANORMAL HUNT TOUR GROUP, the murderers are probably still here! Hunt them out!”

Um, nah, no thanks, I don’t really....

“If you don’t do it, then I won’t guide you out.”

After a little while of deliberation, the group all decided it was probably best to find the ones who killed Kerfufle and avenge his death.

Someone asked how they would even know if they killed the murderers.

“Oh, you know, ghost things. When you horribly murder them in this forest, I’ll eat their ghosts and then gain most of their knowledge and tell you whether they were one of my murderers or not.”

...Is that really how ghosts worked?

A little bit more discussion and it was agreed that that was generally how ghosts worked. So then everybody sat down in the forest and started their horrible, very long day.

All town and mafia players have a bonus goal. Getting a bonus goal and winning is THE ULTRA BEST YAYYYYY. Winning is nice too, and that's better than losing and getting your bonus win. If you are ultra stinky and stupid then you would lose and not even get your bonus win but IT'S NOT LIKE ANYBODY HERE IS SUCH A LOSER DANG.

To clarify what Malky said, in case people are having trouble translating - All town and scum players have a bonus goal. Third-parties, if they exist, may have one as well; we're not saying.

"Scoring", such as it is, goes like this.

Win-and-a-half: Your side won and you got your bonus goal.
Win: Your side won and you didn't get your bonus goal.
Half-win: Your side lost and you got your bonus goal.
Loss: Your side lost and you don't even have your bonus goal as consolation.

In other words, winning for your side is more important than getting your bonus goal, but you should try to go for them if feasible.

Also, please don't claim bonus goals, that's just not as much fun. Plus somebody else might be out to spoil yours for you.
If you really want to, you can talk in general terms about them. For example:
"Whoo! I got my bonus goal last night!"
"Aww, I think my bonus goal's not possible any more."
"I want this person lynched for my bonus goal." (Technically allowed, but I don't think the rest of the players will be inclined to help you.)

If you have any questions, ask in your personal quicktopics.

Okay, that's enough mod-talk, now get lynching! (Or back to it if you've started by the time I post this.)
