"Well this is just great. Now what?"

"We either hope that somebody from the ship will help us eventually, or we wait up to a week hoping that we aren't killed by Meteos before this is over."

"Sigh... You two got any board games around here?"

Augh! No! NO! Where did it go!? It can't be gone! You were nearly done it! And it was here not an hour ago!

It can't be TOO far behind, right?

Where is it where is it- wait what.

You probably should have noticed that gaping hole in your wall. After all, it's rather unsafe.

There also seems to be something etched in the wall next to the hole.

You strap on your homemade jetpack, and strap your toolkit to it.

It may prove difficult to find your device, but if it's 'needed' over there, the thief will probably be looking to use it. You're not quite sure how your Displacement Device will actually be able to help with high tides, but you suppose somebody figures it can.
You're also not quite sure how to go about looking for it. You've got a friend over in the area, but he lives in one of the lower plateaus, which may already be under. There are a few rather tall spires that are unlikely to be completely covered with the lava, though. Perhaps you should come up with some sort of plan of 'attack', per se.

Formulate a list of people who might hold a grudge against you, or be jealous or your mad inventionzz.

Hm... well, if there's anywhere to find somebody who would want your invention, it would be at SciWorks. A public laboratory complex. You used to go there a lot before you got your own personal lab at home.

The lava seems to be getting fairly high. The bottom tier of the lab seems to be completely submerged. Hopefully it'll survive.

The door is shut, and locked.

Well, of course it is. They're sealed down for the high tide. Presumably they'll open to take in anyone still outside, though. Bang furiously on the door.
