The fake amulet has transformed into a helmet, and the key has transformed into a cape? This isn't as pointless as you thought!

They still show up as the regular items on the inventory screen, though. You do not find this odd in the slightest, because you have plenty of reasons to find it strange.

You remove the helmet, which turns it back into a Fake Inflatable Amulet of Pomposity. You offer it to Thoth, whoever that is.
