Yeah. That's pretty much the best thing to do. Anna's been meaning to get her shit together for a while now, but never really gets around to moving forward or anything. Change is hard. Especially while being stuck in a rut like this.



But a good way to start would be actually doing all her work in one day for once. Anna drags every crate out from storage and loads them in the truck.

It's not...too surprising, actually. This kind of thing seems to happen a lot around Vedkle. It seems to be a town that likes attracting people who needs a fresh start or...something poetic like that. Was that even poetic? Whatever. In any case, Anna stops the truck and brings out a blanket.

Because more often than not, these mysterious strangers are naked.



But...what now? She doesn't know this man. Maybe it would be a bad idea to wake him up. Who knows what'll happen. Vedkle's not a long walk away from here anyways, and he'll be able to see it over the horizon, wouldn't he? Maybe?

Then again, how lengthy a walk is is relative. And it probably wouldn't be safe for him if he was just left here on the side of the road. It's not like many other people drive up and down here, in fact, Anna's one of the few who even has a car. But...well...hm....

The man wakes up rather quickly. He's rather bewildered and befuddled and so on. Questions fall out of his mouth like diamonds. Anna tries her best to explain, but it's not like she knows much of anything either.

She tells him he's near a town and she could drive him over there so he could maybe get some clothes or something. He accepts the offer.



Anna's only solace in this is that he seems as uncomfortable as she is.

Anna goes ahead and breaks the silence, asking the young man his name.



He does not say anything for a long time. Anna assumes that he will simply not say anything and goes back to concentrating on driving on the dirt road, but then suddenly the man does speak.

It's Arthur, he says. Art to his friends, sometimes.

While he's at it, he also mumbles out an embarrassed thanks for the ride, since he hadn't thanked her yet. Anna accepts it with a grunt.

After that, Anna just goes ahead and babbles out whatever comes to mind to make the atmosphere less sticky. She talks about the town festival.

Arthur came just in time for it. It's a pretty nice festival. Mostly it's just eating candied things, but there are some games to play. People always needs help setting up for the festival. Arthur could probably find a job quick. Arthur likes exotic things, right? Sometimes merchants come around selling exotic things for the festival. Anna doesn't know where they come from either.

Arthur asks what it's even a festival of.

Anna babbles a bit and then admits that she never really knew. It was just a festival that happened. Someone who actually lived in town probably actually knew. Arthur could ask them, not a dumb hick like her or anything, hahaha.





They arrive.

Anna hops out of her truck, but Arthur stays inside. Anna waits a bit and then tells him that he's gotta come out. He has to figure out what to do next, but either way he's gotta get out of there. Maybe find a place to live in for the time being and such and such. She kinda has work to do and no offense but she just met him so she would kinda be more comfortable if he didn't just sit in her truck like that.

So.

She's sorry if she hurt his feelings or something.
