The Weekly Eagle-Time TF2 CongaScrims

TEAM FORTRESS 2! EAGLE TIME!
Since there seems to be enough of us that play TF2 on this forum we're going to try our hand at WEEKLY TF2 DROP-IN CONGA LESSONS!
FINE PRINT: Conga Lessons may involve class-based mercenary action.
HOW IT WORKS:-
- Fill out your availability in the spreadsheet (recommended)
- Make sure you have Steam and TF2 installed on your computer!
- Join the Eagle-Time Steam group!
- Pop open steam and boot up TF2!
- Join an Eagle-Timer in TF2!
(In order to confirm that the user is participating, look at the game's player list.)
The idea is that SUNDAY the WEEKEND can be a regularly scheduled date for us to game together; a time that we all know people will actually show up for.
Book your time in this handy dandy spreadsheet!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing
Booking in helps us get an idea when people can actually play on certain dates so that we can all aim for the best times.
PURPLE designates time that you have specifically booked off to play games.
GREEN designates time that you have available to drop-in, but without the obligation to do so.
YELLOW designates time that you probably won't show up for.
RED designates time that you won't show up for.
EST seems to be the most common timezone on this forum, so the times on the spreadsheet correspond to that. If we decide to run this again, we simply just have to duplicate the page, clear the availability and start a fresh sheet with the new date (note the spreadsheet's name).
I declare this thread and the spreadsheet to be 'public domain' for moderator editing and event planning.
OH YEAH, ONE MORE THING:
Feel more than welcome to discuss TF2, post screenshots, whatever.

I'm gonna be out of town this weekend but that's kind of an exception, I'm normally free on Sundays.

I look forward to plunging my knife deep into all of your spines.
Maybe to help make this happen, Eagle Time Steam Group should ought use the scheduled event thingy? That way, everybody who is on Steam but has forgotten to play TF2 gets a popup thingy to remind them.
Also, what server?

We don't have a server so presumably we're just going to raid a low-lag, very empty public server as a group.
If for some reason people are feeling generous enough to donate cash every month towards hosting one this may be a possibility, but for now let's see how this event flies. :P
Seems like the 3pm-8pm EST timeframe is the most adequate so far.
Also Infared is the only guy who has permissions in the steam group to add events right now. He'll have to give some folks permission to schedule it or do it himself.

I'd be keen to flail around incompetently on a server, except Sunday noon EST is Monday midnight JST, and I work a 9-5. I'd probably have an easier time keeping an ear out on the weekends when there's enough people online to spontaneously gather.

Maybe late Saturday would work out more nicely for people? Schazer and anyone else on her side of the planet might end up pulling a late night, but it's potentially more feasible to do that on a Saturday than a Sunday for those with 9-5s.

I'll give you guys permision to create events and such when i get access to my computer. Also, i don't think i'll be available on sundays since thats the only day i usually see my irl friends. I'd prefer saturdays.
E: Why dont we just play both days?

Hsssss Saturday night...
Also don't feel obliged to schedule around my wonkiness. I'm listing my availability but it's more of an "I might drop by for a few rounds" and less of a "I better be able to play or else" dealie.
Show Content
SpoilerCompletely unrelated, but the top 2 autocorrects for wonkiness are kinkiness and swankiness which I thought was worth sharing for the lulz and I'm tired

PRIME TIME THIS WEEKEND FOR TF2 IS SATURDAY, 2pm - 6pm EST and SUNDAY 3pm - 6pm EST
For both days, I recommend meeting at 4pm for a 2h session or 3pm for a 3h session. Beyond that it's up to you guys if you wanna play for longer.

Congascrim Saturday was a success!
Also I added a poll!
By financially support I mean donate a sum of money greater than $1 during months that you are interested in playing TF2 with the Eagle-Time community.

That was a lot of fun! Pretty obvious it's been waaay too long since I've played, though. About, I dunno, four... ever.

WHere's the option for 'I support the idea and would support assuming I can see it getting played on at times I'm actually awake and also not being sepulch drama 2.0"?

What's a sepulch drama 2.0?
And worth noting: i think we had a peak of 10 Eagles? Maybe more?

Sepulchritude was the unofficial dedicated MSPA tf2 server which eventually imploded for a large variety of ~internet drama~ reasons.

aaaaaaaaaah.
Well I have no idea what happened to that but if we were to do this it would have to be pretty transparent from the get-go so that everyone knows where their money goes.
