Tomorrow I'm finally getting a haircut...it's been at least six months since the last one. I have no idea what kind of cut to get, just that I want it shorter than it is. Help?

Are you looking to cut it all or just parts? Because I think a sidecut would look pretty good with your face and that hair length for the long parts.

My hair's about the longest it's been in well over a year; I'll have to rectify that as soon as I can find a good recommend for a hairdresser in this town.

Why not leave it like that for a change?

It looks nice when I'm fresh out the shower, bothered to run a hairdryer through it and combed it properly, but one night's sleeping on it invariably leaves it possessed by the spirit of Ringo Starr. It's always got a crapton of volume to it, so the back's already gone all poofy and lost the texture I originally had.

At any rate, even if I did keep it this length it's due for a trim. I haven't done anything to it since moving to Japan.

I tried to cut my hair once upon a time. Then my dad had to take me to a hair-cutter-person to get it fixed.

I like keeping my hair long but my dad forces me to get a haircut because apparently not combing my hair along the part isn't good enough for him

(combing my hair along the part makes me look like him and he looks like a massive tool. no thanks)

I get three haircuts a year.

"It is summer and maybe if I remove a few layers of hair from my head the heat will get to me less"

"Winter is coming and I don't want to get a haircut when it is cold"

"It is spring and I have not had my hair cut since before winter."

It has been 51 weeks since my last haircut, and my mother has put down the ultimatum that it’s gonna get cut next week. That’s something like a record, I guess. Not sure what it’s going to get cut to (I won’t like it anyway), but here is the “before” column:

Not sure I’d be satisfied with my hair at any length. Short is bad. Long is bad. Medium is really bad. Bald is no.

Wait, so no hair is just as terrible as hair? That must be tough.

Each length has its pros and cons. I particularly enjoy the amount of sun protection provided by this length, but washing it is proving to be a bit of a bother.

I can’t seem to ever get a short style that doesn’t overemphasize how gigantic my skull is, though.
