He wants to make a new computer now, what should we look for? We need a new motherboard + RAM + CPU. He wants something like a budget gaming computer, powerful enough to play games, but not so new that it can't play older games.

I mean, his computer was a Windows XP, he's had it for a while.

consider a separate partition if you don't feel like using dosbox emulation, using the XP registry key from the old computer

Loss of battery life is likely something you'll only end up noticing after several years, since it's the result of wear and tear on the battery's internal components due to electricity running through them. If the battery is on, this wear and tear is going to occur anyway, although there might be a slight difference depending on if it's plugged in or not.

So if you tend to turn your DS off, rather than putting it into sleep mode, then "topping it off" is more efficient. If you keep it on most of the time, it probably won't matter.

Either way, you're probably not going to notice much of a difference for several years. I've had my DS for...somewhere around 2-3 years, and the battery life has dropped by maybe half an hour, even with me leaving it plugged in overnight almost constantly.

I've had my DS Lite for 2-3 years. Its battery life is now 3 minutes. I kept it plugged in near-constantly.

I maintain that piercings are awesome. Especially if they involve chains.

My desire to get a tattoo is at odds with my crippling fear of needles.

I can't stand piercings. Ear piercings I can tolerate, but anything else just makes me outright uncomfortable.

I think minimalistic piercings can look cool.

I'd really like to get Viewtiful Joe's ear piercings thingies myself if only i could figure out how they're called.

I want to get a bunch more ear piercings but i never actually wear earrings in my regular earlobes anyway. It's probably been a year or so since i last did, and i apparently have the gift of piercings never closing over so the holes are still there.

I don't normally wear earrings either, but I found these ones in a store in Miyakonojyo and they're just too great.
