I approve of the use of the word "deforestation" to describe my shaved face.

I woke up this morning to find that one of dad's old friends had dropped by almost completely unannounced. I hadn't seen the guy in about ten years and from what I could remember, he was brash, boisterous and more than a tad eccentric. Turns out I'd recalled him quite accurately, but he's also got a lot of money, a keen interest in European history and a very good taste in safety helmets:

Newsboys and flat caps are pretty sweet because they go with basically any outfit.

I maintain that part of the reason fedoras are so identified with idiots is that some people insist on wearing them without a color-coordinated jacket. (The other part is, of course, MRA bullshit)

I'm left handed and my part's on the right side, but that's because my left eye is blind and so I don't care if hair blocks it. Do I still count?

I thought it was because she was leaning in on her left arm for the mouse.

Don't worry, he was still alive and well - he just started crawling around the inner circular part and kept losing his grip and falling down, which is why he's on his side in the last couple of pics.

I haven't shown a picture of myself since I had my hair cut short (and now it's grown out a bit so it doesn't look quite as good) so have this picture that doesn't really show off my hair very well at all while I look mildly disturbed about it.

To add to the side fringe conversation, I'm right handed and my hair is parted on the right side of my head, but this was probably a good decision seeing as the fringe covers my semi-invisible eyebrow and it would probably look pretty weird the other way round.

I part on the right. That’s where the whorl is. My brother did, too, until he decided he preferred much shorter cuts (and got a job that requires them). He has a double whorl. We’re both pretty right handed. Then again, he used to copy nearly anything I’d do just because I was a little bit older. That’s just a thing kids do. And early on, either I chose or it was chosen for me to part my hair on the right (before a certain time, photos suggest it was done for me—on the left).

Dad is a lefty and he also parts on the right.

Incidentally, there is research suggesting that there is some correlation between whorl direction and handedness, but it’s far from genetic gospel truth. As far as family lore is concerned (both my father and his mother were left handed, I have no idea who else), the parting hair on the opposite side thing is the general pattern and we two are exceptions.

My hair refuses to be anything but a pastel shade right now. Not sure why.

As for side fringe convo, I am right handed but i brush my fringe off to the side with my left hand. :B
