Quote:> horf chamomile goodness all over the crowd

A long, red rope cordons off your cage from the audience. Your headflower is wilted from dehydration, and the still air doesn't seem likely to spread your dust.

Still, you can try!

You wait until your captor's attention wanders before poking your headflower through the bars.

Just as you release your soothing dust, a delicate breeze blows through the market. The scent of chamomile drifts along with. An appreciative murmur ripples through the crowd, and they regard you with newfound curiosity.

Still, no-one speaks up to adopt you.

Quote:> Single out someone who looks like they'd be a very chill or sympathetic beanpig haver.

You scan the first row for anyone who seems particularly keen on you. You spot two such people:

A tall, red-haired figure with a healing cut on his cheek, and a short, pigtailed girl whom you imagine is older than she seems. Both observe you with interest.

What now?

roll on your back, wiggle those legs. That usually gets attention.
Quiet. Good for an unusual opinion. Doesn't talk much.

Cast a soulful, pleading look at the red-haired figure that communicates in a single moment both the depth of your sadness at your previous owner's death, and the hardship and deprivation of your current imprisonment. Let a single, calculated tear roll down your left eye for maximum effect. If necessary due to dehydration, dunk your head in the water dish and/or vomit to moisten your eye.
