I climb up the left ladder (but avoid the pendulum) and check out that thing that looks like a treasure chest.

The people gather around the clock. It doesn't seem to be moving, but the pendulum does. Solaris stares in the eye of the Mine Ghost. It doesn't seem to be happy about him going nearer it. Coldblooded climbs up and examines the square. It seems to be a button. The markings are markings. People try to run under the pendulum. Both agentblue and PYP almost get hit by it. The chest seems to be locked. It smells like smoke. Yep, the metal barrier is a barrier! All the ladders seem to be rickety. That bottom right ladder looks heavier than the others. I start trying to slide it underneath the block it's against so it can go up to the rightmost ledge, and maybe see if anybody else is willing to help me out with this in case it's too heavy to do on my own.

Okay so the Mine Ghost is protecting that stick.
I think we want that stick. Also, if I had to guess, the buttons with the two markings have to do with each of the doors. I don't have a power that can really deal with him, but I'm willing to test things out and probably put myself at a disadvantage by going up and trying to talk to the mine ghost, and then if it tries to attack me, punch it.

We could try and move the ladder leading up to Barrier 1 down to the ground floor, then propping it up on the rightmost ledge. And then press both buttons at once?

Also, cyber, I don't think you'll be able to turn that ladder around once you slide it under that block. It looks too long to do without bumping into the bottom right corner of the block it's currently resting on. I'm just eyeballing it, though; I could be wrong.

Well you've got to sort of slide the ladder towards the pendulum first until it's low enough on the ground that you can slide it forward.

Basically what Cyber was going to do, only with the ladder leading up to Barrier 1 since it's less useful where it is now.

PYP finds that the chest is very, very heavy. Darn! Coldblooded punches the button. One of the barriers open. Solaris tries to talk to the Mine Ghost. It is feeling rather Anti Personnel and tries to bite him. He punches back. The ghost explodes, causing a mess. Ladders are being moved around. Slorange bides his time. Looks like the coast is clear for the exit.
