That escalated quickly, my little avatar says. Things escalate quickly, a lot. The universe is the mother of all escalations, and like all things, it will one day run down. That's the truly scary thought: that one day, no matter what we do or where we run, nothing we do will truly ever matter. It's enough to make nihilists of us all.
