actually it's worse because all our remaining missing roles have either optional or mandatory goodwill refusal.

Good news: Either the Police Officer or the Office Worker is the Conspiracy Theorist, by dint of Laser's use of the Mastermind ability where the both of them increased Paranoia by 1. However the Conspiracy Theorist role doesn't have any kind of goodwill refusal, so the Police Officer is the Conspiracy Theorist.

Unfortunately that still leaves us with two options for the Main Plot and Roles left to identify: Murder Plan with as-yet unidentified Brain and Killer, or A Place To Protect with Cultist. Brain, Killer, and Cultist all have Goodwill Refusal. Killer and Brain are Optional, but by doing this we're going into our final loop and we still don't know for sure which Main Plot we're dealing with.

Things to bear in mind for this round:
If it's Murder Plan, we could trigger it either by popping 2 intrigue on Key Person and getting them in the same room as the Killer.
Or, we can get 4 intrigue on the Killer and get the Protagonist Death which guarantees we know who the Killer is.
The trouble with both of these approaches is they're optional, so Laser can refuse to trigger them to mess with us, and also they end the loop early. If we die by Killer+KP Intrigue and it's Office Worker+Girl+Someone else in the room, we're super in the dark. Also either way we'll be entering the Final Guess with zero clue who the Brain is, unless Laser throws us a bone and use their Intrigue ability to out them. (He won't though)

If it's A Place to Protect, we lose at the end of the loop if there's 2 Intrigue on the school. This is actually the best way for us to lose because it means there's only one Role left to find a character for (Cultist), and it'll be the Office Worker whose role is currently unknown. If we lose in this fashion we can name all the Roles and win at the Final Guess.

HOWEVER we won't get to the end of loop unless the Key Person survives. Things we need to dodge to do that:
  • leaving the Key Person and SK in the same together location alone (bad, already happened twice)
  • Office Worker becoming panicked and doing a murder on D2 (bad, gives no new info)
  • Key Person has 2 Intrigue and shares a space day end with the Killer (This would at least narrow down who the Killer is, but again, Brain is awol leading into final guess if it's not Office Worker)
  • Key Person is the D3 Suicide Culprit, and commits suicide D3 after panicking (bad but avoidable with planning)

So we gotta do the same nonsense with SK+KP again, either keep the Office Worker calm or keep the KP clear of him D2, not let KP get panicked D3/game-endingly Intriguing, and get enough Intrigue on the School.

Sound doable????

This would accomplish nothing, but would allowing the office worker to die and thus preventing the murder on D2 work? Or getting him in the same room as SK though idk what THAT'D do?

The thing is, how can we be sure when to stop the intrigue on the KP?

That and I guess we know that maybe Doctor or Boy Student is the killer as KP was in the room w/ them when Laser put some intrigue on her.

That would work actually! If a culprit's dead before the day they're scheduled to make an incident happen, then obviously they can't perform it.

The SK only kills when they're alone with a victim though, so we'd need to move students or doctors off their starting tiles and move the SK+d2 Culprit into position and all on D1.

Also that's a good point about possible Killer candidates!

Also also thanks for worrying about me but I'm ok! I'm a bit sleep-deprived and my textual writing style may be a bit snippy and emphasize stuff weird, but I'm doing well and enjoying this game. :>

We could... use that fact to our advantage actually. Instead of moving the characters around, if we're not sure what Laser did we could just.. move a character to the SK? So that if the KP moves they won't die. Probably should've done that whoooops

Well, a couple of jobs for the round:

1. Firstly, keeping the SK away from our KP (or keeping someone else in the location so the SK can't strike)
2. Making sure the D2 Murder doesn't hit our KP (keep the Office Worker not paranoid, or keep the KP out of harm's way on the day)
3. Making sure our KP isn't the D3 suicide (keep the Girl Student's paranoia low)
4. Making sure we don't die to Killer and Intrigued KP scenario (avoid Intrigue on KP, avoid leaving Intrigue2 KP with unknown characters)
5. Making sure we don't get a Protag Kill (avoid anyone hitting 4 Intrigue)

If we manage all these, well, we win, because these are all the ways the KP (or us Protags) can die. If any of these happen then we enter the Final Guess without a solid state of the board, which sucks but what can ya do.

Can I propose we change how we handle Protect-the-KP? Because I actually forgot that the play order rotates with each new day.

a52 will be D1 leader, then it's Schazer then wM.
Schazer'll be D2 leader, then it's wM then a52.
wM is D3 leader, then a52 then Schazer.
D4 is a52 leader, then Schazer then wM.

Whoever is Leader on any given day takes first responsibility for protecting the KP. Using the following logic:
  • If Laser plays on only the Shrine Maiden and the KP is at risk (KP is not in the City, or Laser still has his Move Diagonal card), play Forbid Movement on Shrine Maiden.
  • If Laser plays only on KP and they're at risk, play Forbid Movement on KP.
  • If Laser plays on both KP and SK, shit gets a bit more complicated.
    • If in this situation the KP is in the City, then Leader plays Forbid Movement on KP.
    • If the KP is in the Shrine, School, or Hospital (and the SK is in a different location) Leader plays Forbid Movement on KP and second player plays a Move on an additional character (bystander) so they go to the KP's location. This way the KP+SK aren't alone and the KP won't die.
    • If the KP and Shrine Maiden are in the same location, Leader uses a Move card to bring in a bystander.


If the Leader on any given Day no longer has their Forbid Movement card (potentially a52 on D4), then the next person in line takes over (that'd be me.) If I don't have my Forbid Movement card, then wiltingMytosis uses the above list of possibilities to play their Forbid Movement card.

If by D4 we've all used up our Forbid Movement cards and the KP is at risk with Laser's card plays, we basically have to make sure there's a bystander at every non-City location. In this case, a52 will be tasked with moving a bystander to the City, I'll move a bystander to the Shrine, and wM can move one to the School.

Also, if the Leader doesn't play on the KP on their turn, Player 2 for the day should play a Forbid Intrigue on her to minimise the chance of a death by Killer. Gaining the Doctor's Goodwill and using our Paranoia -1's on the Office Worker (before D2, not much point afterward) is also a solid idea for this round, I think.

That sounds like a sound plan by the way! Also reminder by D2 the office worker will kill something with enough paranoia so keeping 'em with the KP is a nono. [He also can't go to the school so keep this in mind mayhaps]
