I'm not sure how Absol has even partial legendary status.
Lucario has definitely been given special treatment, Zorua got a movie I guess.

phione's a weird maybe-legendary maybe-not-legendary case. theyre pretty cool i guess, but i feel like they couldve done more with the animal basis, like having the head open up into a bunch of weird tentacles, like an actual clione

Hmm. Maybe it's just me then. I remember Absol being a big deal when I was a kid, but maybe that was more that I thought it was cool than it playing a big role in a movie.

I think Absol was a semilegend because it had pressure as an ability, like a lot of the other legends. And now that's no big deal, and also gets super luck.

Also we could count the pseudos with them too. I mean, for legends that aren't actually, I sure jump to ones like Tyranitar and Goodra before those ones.

Tyranitar is definitely one.
