SpoilerIn Chemistry today, we made sugar dust by mixing acids, sugar, and jelly crystals. All of ours turned out like death itself had peed in our beakers if death pee was cherry-flavored and sugary. Everybody was super disappointed in the Chemistry teacher for lying to us about the promised candy. But then she had us try the stuff that she made.
It. Tasted. Meh. Not exactly the best sugar dust anybody has tasted, BUT IT WAS DIMENSIONAL PLANES BETTER THAN WHATEVER WE MADE. Everybody was all like "wtf. what sort of witchery is this???" and went back to our seat defeated in our abilities to make candy not taste like cand-onteatthis.
So we poured all our collective shame and horrible flour-y-like substances into this huge beaker instead of down the drain where it belonged (Chemistry teacher said to do it instead of that) and were met with a surprise in the form of an unsuspecting can of soda.
Oh yeah this was happening. That was what I thought as she grabbed the can in her hand with the beaker in the other. And then she did...THE THING.
WHABLAMO! The Chemistry teacher poured that sucker's fizzy contents into our hot messes like I suspected and created some sort of foamy soda-candy hybrid as if she was a mad scientist obsessed with powdered confectioneries. Then, someone had the great idea to chug it all down like a doofus and so chug it down they did in the face of many phones wired to SnapChat.
After the first gulp, they stopped their senseless chugging and went straight to the sink to wash their unholy mouths. They said it tasted as death-pee-ish as all the others except with a little more sugar and less cherry. Needless to say, their suffering was hilarious. It was a right-o tiem for everyone there though, despite the torture our tongues were subjugated to. As the first class of the day, we decided to let all the other classes suffer through that experience that will inevitably lead to some doofus, or even a whole load of doofuses, chugging down the soda-candy concoction for entertainment of all. It was our job to keep this sacred secret for all the others shall go through the same hand that we had and thus, end the class with much merriment and brotherhood.
With a collective nod and a whole barrel of super-serious laughter, we wrote down the strange happenings in our lab reports and departed from the lab with an air of successful failure.
This was what happened in Chemistry today. It really made me smile a lot and everybody had a good time with it.

SpoilerI love my PATH teacher (Basically a career, motivation, and leadership teacher). She makes dank memes used by all the students and yet she sounds super sassy-serious about anything she says. Everybody else loves her, too and a week ago, we all found out about the donation project that has been started by her (via Community Service Club) to help fund leukemia research.
About every teacher and some faculty members has a decorated milkjug, and the students can choose which jug to donate to. The top three jugs that have the most money get to have its corresponding persons get pied in the face.
She should've known we would've overloaded her jug on day one.
Of course, she also told us afterwards that whatever this mess we're doing? She's looking at it all disapproving. 'Said that if we were her kid, she would smack us all upside the head for doing it.
She's still winning by a landslide though! I heard from someone that she literally has triple the amount of the person in third place. I'm happy because she's like the BFF of the whole school and it's good that we're all comfortable enough here to have her get pied, while not having flaming balls of wrath rain down from us from the heavens.
In other news I GOT A FREAKING 208 ON MY NMSQT SCORE (1370 on my PSAT!). It's probably not high enough to get that sweet, sweet scholarship money, but I am so close, and it's making me excited!

Y'know, i always complain about the holidays because they're very stressful and i don't really like my family at all, every year i have a really shitty time and i just want it all to be done with... But i really can't complain this time, everyone has been so nice to me. My Mom was visiting my sister on the other side of the country so i was living on my own, and a couple of people invited me to their houses to spend Christmas with them since i'd be alone, my gf was very supportive because she knows i hate the holidays and made me a duper super special gift because she's very enthusiastic about them. I mean i still cried a lot the day before Christmas but in the end people gave me presents and cheered me up. I'm basically living one of those typical Christmas movie plots where the grumpy character's heart grows three times its size and turns green, ripping their clothes except their pants and go on a rampage through the city before finally mellowing out because of the magical spirit of Christmas.

So I've been seeing a new doctor recently and tbh its unreal how seriously he takes his patients, I feel like I'm actually receiving medical care for the first time in my life?
He prescribed an antidepressant to me last month that doubles as an anti anxiety med and now that its finally kicking in I'm....not over thinking everything? And my positive thoughts and self care are winning out over my negative self talk??? I'm so happy to have a happier baseline mood and a budding sense of social bravery and I'm still having trouble believing it. c:

Found out today that a very good friend came out to her family. Also found out they took her to get new clothing and to search for a trans friendly workplace afterwards.
Today was a good day.

I was vaguely suspicious of Mitch giving me the runaround/trying to stall the clock on her promise to let me attend the English presentation contest this coming Tuesday I've been coaching some students for
But nah she's just not on top of shit and (unlike me) bad at being apologetic about it
I've been given the necessary documents and get to go cheer these kids on in a week

I'm building a computer, which means I will hopefully be able to use art programs again without melting my poor, dying laptop (and play games woo)
Funny story, I've managed to get just about everything hooked up properly... except that I cant get the goddamned DVD drive cover off. It slides down, but not far enough to fit the drive in there so it's just this little window into the soul of my computer, staring out at me, taunting me.
Good/bad news? Eh, I'll figure it out.

Oh more good news! My new apartment allows pets, so I've got my kit-cat back. He keeps locking himself in the cupboards and thinks my bed belongs to him. Good to have him back
