How small? You don't want to overwhelm Philia and Phobia, but you also need to get rid of it faster than it's filling up...

Feel like I should second this one.

Your suit is reporting on the amount of water that is stored in the porthole. You don't have access to it here.

That would be a good idea, but you would need to figure out how to force the doors open while the elevator is moving...

You won't say that you didn't think about it, but if your suit fails, you're worried that all of the goo will be released at once... which would not be good for anyone else here.

There's nothing else you can do. You've got to let some more of it out. Here goes nothing...

Don't be fooled. Little bastard's hiding a lot of teeth... And a blade. The last one didn't have a blade.

I feel like there's something I'm missing. Any particular reason why Slick isn't just dumping stuff out the window(?) behind him?

Rakned, you want this thing close to the elevator cables? I don't know, it doesn't sound like a good idea anymore...

The box should create at least a rudimentary screen, and it might be able to confuse the thing enough to give our allies the upper hand. And hey - if it turns out to be sturdier than the flimsy cardboard it looks like to me, it might actually make for a decent improvised trap/weapon!

>Phobia: Stay on the defense! Use that plunger to keep your sister safe!

You're going to have to disagree

Philia wields the box and ambushes the creature from behind!

Phobia is too busy hyperventilating. Direct confrontation doesn't seem to be her forte.

Philia finishes slamming the box down on the creature, and then proceeds to stomp it. With her butt.

She immediately follows up with a kick, sending the box careening off the sides of the elevator!

Philia assures you that the creature has effectively been neutralized. It won't be able to wake up and get out of the box unless someone stomps on it again to stop it, and then leave it idle for eight seconds, give or take.

While you appreciate Philia's efforts, the black goo is already building up again. Simply emptying it out inside the elevator is looking to be untenable. Your best bet would probably be to empty the whole tank out through one of the doors. You ask Philia if she and Phobia can work on forcing one of them open.

Of course, you'd need to find a way to snap Phobia back to her senses, first...

Philia's way ahead of you, using a tried-and-true method for bringing people back down to planet Earth.

calm down calm down calm down calm down calm down

It does the trick, and Phobia's stopped jittering. She's still a little bewildered, but now she's able to help the two of you.

You gesture over to the panel on the wall. Maybe there's something behind it that can help?

(02-08-2020, 04:15 AM)Electric-Nope Wrote: »> Phobia: Get that panel open and see what you can do.

Phobia is eyeballing the panel. There's a keyhole, but no key in sight. A maintenance worker would probably have one.

Maybe there's some way she could use her plunger to force the door open, or perhaps there's something on the ground that can be made into an impromptu lockpick. Maybe a hairpin?

Philia just rears up and kicks the damn thing. The cover is thin enough that she's able to break the lock. Why didn't you think of that?

Maybe there's some sort of switch or something inside that will let the two sisters override the controls. This elevator only looks to have the two stops, how complex could it be?

The two of them are plumbers. Plumbers dabble a bit with electrical work as a part of their job, right? There's a little bit of overlap, yes?

Philia turns back to you and says no. No they don't.

Oh.

The three of you are going to have to figure out how this works, and fast. It's a live-wire trial-by-fire!
