O.I: I don't know why some people are here helping you do what's considered the impossible, but for me, this whole thing is like a good TV drama. Except I get to take part in it. Yes, you are correct we're sorta skyping your mind right now. And in regards to the whole alien/human stuff I'll say that we've never met, and thus we don't know what each other looks like. As for where I am, well I wish I was planetside right now, but that's not really possible right now. Shitty connections literally in the middle of Bumblefuck, Nowhere. Just straight up void around the rust bucket I call home.
Daydream: ... Well.
Daydream: I can't say that I'm thrilled to be starring on this TV drama...
Daydream: It kind of makes me a little bit sad that countless aliens are watching me fuck up royally.
Daydream: Just a little bit though, because right now I'm too tired mentally to care.
Daydream: From what you just said, it sounded like you've come straight out of a movie.
Daydream: And believe it or not, but I'm certain that this "impossible" task is very possible, and inevitable!
O.I: This is not common technology mind you. We can't just speak into anybody's mind. The omniscent entity we mentioned earlier set us up with it. Or, well, it may be more accurate to say he's an Infallible Professor. And we're certainly not playing around with your lives in the balance if that's what you think. The professor might be playing for all I know, you'd think he could help the lot of you all by himself but here we are.
Daydream: Fuck, this can of worms again...
Daydream: Please don't bring this up again... That entity of yours. It really drives me insane wondering just what kind of person can simply help me, but chooses not to, or rather facilitates this round-about way of viewing my struggles to you all.
Daydream: I would much rather think such a person isn't actually real.
O.I: One of the reasons I want to help, I guess is because I want to see others be happy and have their happy ending, I guess. I don't get many happy endings myself, so helping others is what I do to try to achieve happiness myself. And sorry if my ranting is confusing, I'm not always the best with phrasing things.
Daydream: Well, aren't you thoughtful. If there are people like you in this group of Aliens then there is no reason I should think for something tragic to happen on your watch.
O.I: On why we want to help you, the reasons vary from person to person. some may act out of curiosity, others out of compassion, some may have reasons that nobody else understands. we could go through it for everyone who is currently involved, though that would be quite a lot of work.
Daydream: Despite all the voices you claim to be apart of your group, I tend to recognize only a very small amount.
O.I: If you don't mind going a bit off topic, I do have a concern that I have been waiting a while to address. As you already have noticed, we had used some tinfoil items to deal with the psychic powers of Lethos. It seems like malice, the weird doll, is using part psychic manipulation and part what you perceive our "power" to be. so the question is, do you think tinfoil items help against it? Could it also keep nightmare from controlling derrick, or is that a completely different thing?
Daydream: Hm, there's a bit to cover here.
Daydream: First, I'm not entirely sure what Malice is. It might be a force of nature, or some kind of monster so powerful it can allude the laws of this space I know as the dream world.
Daydream: Or it could be an object used by another to egg on, or spy on targets.
Daydream: Or it could be a completely unrelated thing that works with no rhyme or reason.
Daydream: I couldn't tell you.
Daydream: Secondly, on the topic of Nightmare... I've told you before. Derrick IS Nightmare.
Daydream: He just doesn't know it yet.
Daydream: And the Nightmare I know, the one on the outside, is trying to do... Something.
Daydream: That I am not sure.
Daydream: Derrick is under a spell, he is oblivious to his true nature. Among... other things.
Daydream: I've put a LOT of effort into keeping him "sedated" so I can do my work here.
Daydream: It sounds... incredibly selfish at this point, I know. But I'm not looking for your sympathy here.
Daydream: Just understand that what happened with Derrick, isn't mind control, or my Nightmare taking over this Derrick.
Daydream: But a weakening of the spell I have over him.
O.I: I see you still doubt our intentions for some reason. And that is reasonable and understandable I suppose... But what if I told you that solving your puzzle and getting you to take that wager to spare Emily, is what I now-- years later, though not many-- still consider to be the crowning achievement of my existence?
Daydream: ... That puzzle was actually fairly easy and the wager, to be honest was just me humouring you.
Daydream: Sorry that you've wasted your crowning achievement on it, hehe...
What if I also told you that kindness is a universal constant that allows sentient creatures around the multiverse to form this complex construct of support called Society? Granted, this time-dilation was for the longest time also our greatest asset, in the end, I suppose there can be no secrets between real friends, eh? So now you know the price we all willingly and gladly pay for your sakes, I hope you can find it in your heart to make some personal sacrifices of your own and to let Emily help you sort through your feelings. Make no mistake, among our ranks, there's still bitterness over what you did, but it's growing lesser with each sign of your atonement.
Daydream: Societies are known to self destruct... And I'm sure that it's not through kindness.
Daydream: While I acknowledge that you are growing on me, don't push it. I wouldn't be quick to call us friends, or anything like that.
Daydream: I will be calling Emily here shortly, what you say is true... But please understand that I don't really care if any of you are still bitter, seeing as how there's nothing I can really do about that, or would be willing to do.
We continue to believe there is genuine kindness and love within your heart, though terribly misguided at one moment. Otherwise you would not have kept trying to make things right again for as long as you did. The problem, as always in life, is that we can not see the perfect outcome, because Reality is too vast for any one person to comprehend. And that is where having friends comes in handy... but I'm delving into Philosophy again. I'm sorry, that was a little long winded and heavy and you just wanted to relax... we would love to play another game with you when you're feeling better. No wagers this time.
Daydream: ......
Daydream: Although you were starting to rub me the wrong way, you ended up sounding rather cute.
Daydream: Thank you for believing in me, I guess.
Daydream: Games though... Games...
Daydream: Ahh, what the hell. Sure.
Daydream: I'll try not to make it too complicated because I'm sure you too, want to get back to work.
O.I: It seems my comment on how this is like a TV drama got a few people worried, but I was just being honest with you. Wouldn't you want us to at least be honest with you to some extent? And besides, I'm not totally heartless and I don't only care about the next big dramatic fuck up. I still wanna see everyone survive.
Daydream: Honesty is always good, but like you I am not willing to share the whole truth about everything.
Daydream: So in a way sometimes withholding information is a good thing.
Daydream: But half truths can be considered lies, depending on who you asked because it's inherently dishonest.
Daydream: In which case honesty can only be "sometimes" good like dishonesty. I suppose that really it depends on the subject and whether or not you care about feelings involved.
Daydream: I wouldn't consider myself to be a sensitive person... But I do get passionate about things sometimes as well.
Daydream: Well for what it's worth, thanks.
O.I: We saw people who needed help, and decided to try to help you. The more we learned about the situation, the more important it seemed. We are trying to save lives. Do we need a reason for that?
Daydream: Yes, you do need a reason.
Daydream: Would you want to save us if we were all horrible people?
Daydream: For the things I've done, I'm sure there is at least one person who would not agree with you.
Daydream: Though... I'm very thankful that you're here.
O.I: Oh yeah, going off of what someone else said earlier, I would love to play a game with you when you're feeling better. That would be really fun.
Daydream: Games... Games... I'm trying to come up with something.
O.I: I think we would all enjoy a good game.
Daydream: Hmmm... Brain... come on.
Daydream: Bleh, I got nothing. Maybe I'll wait until you're all finished talking.
O.I: "Personally, my motivations are comprised of a variety of reasons, so bear with me.
Daydream: Okay.
At first I stuck around out of idle curiosity. Finding Derrick wandering around this strange world he found himself in was interesting. Watching his reactions to the dream world, his interactions with the people around him, helping him through his tribulations, and watching him grow stronger and more capable was fun. Watching him make things in particular was fun for pretty much everybody involved.
Daydream: Isn't it? Some of those items I'm certain you Aliens are coming up with.
Then the rest of you started joining. You all are an interesting lot, to say the least. Keeping you all alive was somewhat challenging, but rewarding. Watching you all interact with each other was even more interesting, even if it was just in a reality show kind of way at times. But watching you guys grow up as people has been a very rewarding experience so far.
Daydream: Hehe... I see.
Lastly, and probably the most important thing currently: throughout all of the events that have transpired, you all have managed to grow on me. I actually like all of you. You silly little children that I can only perceive through abstract have managed to touch my heart from across worlds. As such, I'd like to see your existences continue.
Daydream: Well you sure know how to make a girl feel special.
I'd like to think that you have contributed the most with words like that.
More generally speaking, I've grown to love doing this. It means quite a lot to me that I can help you all out. Even through all the drama, sorrows, and questionable choices, it's been a personal honour to contribute to whatever this is. And I am glad that I have had the chance to do so."
Daydream: Ahahaha!! So what IS this?? Because I'd like to know as well.
Daydream: Heh, but I'm sure you probably don't have a clue. Well it's interesting to know that some of you have invested your own time into ensuring that my work continues and becomes successful... It really, really means a lot to me.
I simply can't leave before Derrick eats DT. He's the only realm attendant left who hasn't been, and the circle must be completed!
Daydream: What?
Daydream: You want Derrick to eat DT?
Daydream: As some kind of joke or something?
Daydream: Are there layers to this I can't comprehend? I don't find it funny.
Daydream: Also DT is so cute...
Daydream: Bad Alien, no eating my DT.
Daydream: ..... Well? Anyone else?
Daydream: Okay! I guess you're all done.
Daydream: Don't worry we can talk more later, but how about we try something fun. This will kinda be a one player game. I'll watch and see how you do.
Daydream: And I'll bring Emily in now, so we can get started on our little chat.
Daydream: So, somehow I came up with 2 games we-- er I mean YOU can play.
Daydream: The first game is called Master thief, Little bob will have to finesse his way into a super top secret facility and steal valuables without being detected! If you are detected, you get one chance to keep going, but a second time, and you lose.
Daydream: The second game I call, Strongest Challenger! Basically I'll spawn monsters for bob to fight. Basically fighting simulator. You can spawn items and skills for bob to use to defeat my monsters. At the end of the fight, Bob is healed but has to fight an even stronger monster! Up to 3.
Daydream: What do you think?
O.I: I don't know why some people are here helping you do what's considered the impossible, but for me, this whole thing is like a good TV drama. Except I get to take part in it.
