Waterworks
RE: Waterworks
Ah... well, we can't exactly fight that, but the elevator door is still open. Maybe we can maneuver it into trapping itself, or at least it's head?

> Stay back near the elevator, then dive away when it lunges. When it hopefully gets its head stuck in the elevator car, press the button to shut the doors on it and run like hell.

(Also, Philia looks like she has little blue wings in the last panel because of Slick's feet. This is cute. :D)

just what kind of plunger is that

The worm recoils and projectile vomits a ton of goo at Philia! This really is a bigger version of the same thing that attacked Connie. You've got to do something!

You're not going to be able to make a calculated and surgical cut with your harpoon here! You're too close to either of the sisters! Or Connie! It's not worth the risk right now!

You really need to think about this when you're NOT holding Connie!

You and Phobia move to the closest shutter door to frantically pull the lever before Philia is washed away.

The door doesn't seem to want to budge too high off the ground, though... Phobia stammers that these are one of the many garages within the machine bay, and that there can be all sorts of useful equipment inside them.

You ask Phobia to roll under the gap in the door and see if she can find something that can help, or possibly another way out. She's able to easily drop and roll underneath the door.

There's a fair bit of noise from Phobia stumbling around in the dark. You can hear her grumbling about the heavy maintenance worker and how he needs to take better care of his equipment.

Meanwhile, Philia has recovered from the deluge of goo and is trying to wipe it off before it starts to burn.

You really don't want to drop Connie.

Back down in the basement, the original feeder immediately went straight for her, breaching her helmet and doing what you presume was filling her suit with goo. It happened so fast.

...But you still need to protect yourself and the sisters... You might able to play it safe if you hold your arm out and keep the harpoon affixed firmly to your glove.

Glad to have you back.

I'm not sure why I'm suggesting this.

> Slick: Keep Connie out of the harpoon's line of movement!
This is probably the best way to keep Connie safe; while the "attack-deflecting shield" idea might end incredibly poorly, as long as it doesn't wind up injuring CC it hopefully won't make things worse.

> Phobia: Attempt to survey your surroundings
It seems like it'd be rough trying to get a sense of what's up in the middle of the dark like that. Speaking of light and sight...

> Slick: Use suit illumination to give Phobia some help
> Slick: Use your passive vison types to get a sense of what's behind the shutters

Maybe Philia and/or Phobia should run off, to see if they can get some help from the others. I bet someone like Jose in particular - who can actively use water as a weapon - would be pretty handy to have around for fighting off all this goo...

You guess you could just give it a spin and hope that the feeder bumps into it...

Been there, done that. Philia's reluctant to climb onto another pile of goo, since the first attempt nearly got her killed. You and your suit might stand a better chance at getting it for her.

She shouts from behind the shutters that it's dark and she hasn't found a light switch yet. She says she's fine, but wouldn't object to you squeezing in there and giving her a hand.

Hm. You'll have to figure out whether to help Philia, Phobia, or if you should focus on defending yourself before the feeder makes another move.

What? That doesn't make sense. You have no idea where Tubs is and what he could even be doing right n-

...

You pull out your radio and ask Tubs where he is and what he's doing right now.

The radio crackles to life with his voice. He says that first, he's surprised that you remembered how to work the damn thing, and second, him and the boys are trying to hunt down the palooka who was piloting that jury-rigged forklift. They were able to find the guy and chase him down a hallway, but now there's this big black and sticky mess coming out of the floor and going up into the ceiling. It's blocking their path.

> Slick: Tell Tubs to drop whatever he's doing, get the boys and meet you near the elevator to the basement ASAP. You need to put a thing into the water to stop the goo all over the waterworks from forming into obstacles and monsters, like the one you're fighting right now. Also, you might be in danger.

You tell Tubs to hit it with his pillar and see what happens.

You don't have to ask him twice.

It seems like that whatever was blocking Tubs path was indeed part of the feeder! It looks hurt. Or at least stunned.

Philia takes advantage of the pause to dive under the shutters and help search for something useful.

You hear Tubs' voice over the radio again.

He's complaining that the thing he hit left a hole in the ground, and it's starting to fill up and overflow with more of that strange black crap! They can't be dealing with this, they've got a tiny mechanic man to catch.
