The Poker Table

(A man sits alone at a table, idly shuffling a deck of cards. A visor casts a green shadow on his face from the solitary overhead lamp. Next to him, a small glass of three ice cubes and a double shot of apple juice slowly drips onto the green felt of the table. He looks up, and a slight smile causes a subtle twitch of his moustache.)

Howdy pardners, fine day for a game, innit? Have yourselves a seat and ol' Rusty'll deal you in. Ferst hunnert chips are free.

I'm sure up for a game of poker! I don't actually know how to play but hopefully I get to learn how to play from you

Whoever has the best cards wins the pot, it's that simple!

You'll need to put 5 chips in the pot to join in on a hand. You get two cards dealt, then everyone can either raise (increase the bet), call (match the bet), or fold (throw in your cards). After 24 hours, anyone not called will automatically fold.

After that, three cards are laid out on the table, and there's another betting round. Then a fourth, then a fifth. Once everything's settled, the pot goes to whoever has the best cards combining their hand with the open cards. A triple beats a pair beats a high card, and the mightiest hand is a royal flush.

I reckon we'll need a couple more folks joinin in before we can start.

(I absentmindedly flick a 5-chip towards the pot. It ricochets off a presumably-there chip, and slides to a stop a couple centimeters too far. The chip that it bounced off of is nudged.)

Like I said, once this round is settled, three cards will be dealt to the table. These are available for everyone to use. Following another betting round, a fourth card is drawn, and eventually a fifth.
