CB is currently voting Nercania instead of Sunspider but otherwise I think it's accurate.

Also I'd like to request future votals list votes in order. It's no longer a problem now but CB being in front of Pharms on the Sunspider wagon was twinging my OCD.

the weirdest thing about playing mafia for the first time in years is me going "wow i wish i had a giant collection of gif images to use as reactions" and basically we need the :kappa: image from twitch chat imo

CSJ I could get behind for being happy with a very lazy response to pressure? Showing up to shrug and vanish again isn't exactly stellar.

Vote: Robottobt I personally would like you to give your opinion on the goings on? Thoughts on the dog, Sunspider, then maybe two or three other active people and maybe who you think looks the best/worst so far.

I currently think Sunspider is playing like Eager Town, but that is mostly post-feel. Much like my ‘something feels fishy about some of Coldblooded’s posts so far’, see I think top of page 4’s “I really don’t like the wheat wagon”, which felt iunno, performative in a scummy way?

But it’s day pne so yeah none of this is a hard tell. I would probably still rather Lynch For Info today if possible, but I’m gonna be absent for the resr of it because I have a midterm exam today as well as two assignments I’ve procrastinated on due. Whoops.

I’m sure y’all will figure some sort of lynch out without me. While I doubt it’ll be on Coldblooded, I don’t really feel like trying to drive a d1 hunch lynch on sheer force of personality (especially when it may be inaccurate) so welp.

Okay Coldblooded, walk me through this. You just doubled down on all your half-baked suspicions on me, correct? AND YET, you changed your vote away from me with no reason, in exchange for a new bandwagon on someone who hasn't defended themselves, the moment people start to suspiciously side-eye you.

Short answer is that I think Wheat's wagon has scum on it, most likely somewhere on the later end of it. (So between you and NO basically.) Also I have a better town read on Wheat than on either Pala or Pharms, and I'm honestly kind of interested in seeing how a Sunspider/NO counterwagon situation would play out but it doesn't look like that's going to happen today so :(

@cold-blooded: what’s so broken about millers? I know some people think they’re strictly for the bastards but I’ve always thought they were a pretty standard role...

Millers/Godfathers are bad imo because they take what should ideally be town's strongest role and basically turn it into a crap shoot. This is admittedly more about personal taste than about game balance or anything but one time I rolled cop in a game with 4 scum, including a godfather and a lawyer and it was like goddamn, I could have just flipped a coin every night and my results would have been just as good.

Anyway my QT question re: Millers was predictably given a very ambiguous answer, which is unfortunate but oh well.

i hope that when seedy gets killed tonight they show up as town because they're that kind of miller but then when the game ends its revealed that we all just didnt like them very much

yeah lmao I'm actually doing really well! It's been my first week on placement, it's going pretty nicely and I'll be straight-up leading a lesson tomorrow which i'm really hype about, i'm just also tired as heck and fervently believe D1 is very hard to take seriously.

I acknowledge that people in this thread, right now, are having a good time here (either cuz y'all enjoy goofing, y'all enjoy trying to figure people's motivations out, or you're enjoying messing with the people who are trying to figure everyone else out), and I appreciate those that are generating hashtag content on D1, but I'm gonna be detached at best until the night's been and gone

fwiw i've been into the spurring of like, actual discussion here like

i definitely am totally into day one being goofs and fun and i am against any trying to stifle that but i also like that there's just a little bit of stirring the pot that like, i can try to form bad opinions based on later that i'll regret when it matters

or maybe gain some good intuition off of it but that just seems unlikely

but i mean even when real deduction time happens i don't believe for a second that the goofs will stop. they'll just be sandwiched in between theorycrafting

Spoilerwheat I don’t want to make things awkward or about the past but like...you know sometimes when you treat people a certain way that affects how they view you in the future. I don’t really like being branded as “holding a grudge” with all the negative meanie connotations that has. given that in the past you’ve spent entire essays belittling me and my friends for being “serious players,” often in an extremely personal manner, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to get my hackles up when you start raising that subject in a coy and easily misread ironic manner. I know that was years ago though, so I’m sorry for not being able to tamp down my emotions better. I might just replace out, idk.

If people wanna join me on csj or the sunspider wagon starts up again I'm good with either. Otherwise I'm ready for this day to end.

Not really a good way to narrow it down but if we want to jump to more conclusions it’s probably one of the more recent ones. [Not really sure if there’s a defined bracket of years/centuries to go off of.]

if you want a straight shot way of communicating the contested idea: d1 is bullshit and that is an aspect of the game of mafia itself. not of any particular setup, or of the players who play it. mafia is designed in a way that makes d1 bad from a gameplay design standpoint

that being said, i don't know where the various layers of irony are that youre assuming. wanting to say 'bark bark' and draw out absurd scenes because they are funny and could make someone laugh is sincere. youre making pretty uncharitable readings of shitposts on a not-gameplay level and id hope you don't still have a grudge on me from back in the day but if you do id hope you please at least not do that ITT so this game could not have that in it

Also, as long as you aren't uncomfortable, I'd hope you stick around Seedy. Regardless of whether I'm garbage at this game, and at communication in general, I need someone to back me up in hating fun and TAKING MAFIA ENTIRELY SERIOUSLY >:U

To Wheat, there's a lot of ways the game can be fun. Sometimes for me that's trying to read people. Even on Day 1, when all you have are tone and vote behavior, and other snippets. It's still fun to try. And as much of a bummer as being on the receiving end of a Day 1 lynch is... scrambling to defend yourself and not die is it's own kind of fun challenge too. Speaking from my own perspective here.

On the flip side, if I ever get judgy of folks not playing the game or goofing off or whatever, I'm sorry. I know I can get like that. I do enjoy the goofing off too, genuinely. But sometimes I'm a grumpy bitch about things. Feel free to call me out if I get that way, and it's harshing your enjoyment of Da Game.
