I like how the comma between shitposting and shantytown makes it look like there's a town called Shitposting inside the greater region of Shantytown.

I would like to be the first to welcome everyone to Shitposting, Shantytown, Hawkspace, USA.

Some really big cities like mexico city have populations of wild homeless children who live in trash dumps and live off picking trash of the rest of the city and selling the things they find. These communities are sort of like "shitposting" inside of the greater "shantytown." Maybe we can theme ourselves after the Parisian street urchins in les miserables and add "little" before all of our names. I mostly put this subforum together with Wheat on the grounds of "fuck it, let's give it a go." If it becomes indistinguishable from Gen Chat and people want to merge it back, let's merge it back! Otherwise let's just see how this joint pans out.

It was never my intention to have any particular rules about post quality or the like when making ET Gen Chat; if the rules seem to reflect that then yeah the rules need to be changed. If it's just a culture/perspective thing though I'm down for more casual shit-shooting. My trouble is I get all self-conscious and only feel ok doing it when other people are doing it, because I lack initiative

It is my wish that we eventually merge this into gen chat, there really is no difference other than "just be more casual". I don't get why people were so pressured to make "quality" posts. Who cares? We all know we don't shitpost for the sake of posting and we all know exactly what kind of shitposts we hate.

But whatever, if this makes the forum more active i'm more than up for it.

Please allow us to switch from this theme to the original, it's ok that this is the default one for the subforum but i'd like to switch.
