Now that my nephew is 3, and walking and talking and doing things I have to start thinking when it is appropriate to show him different things.
Like should we watch adventure time together? (answer: no. Maybe in like 5 years)
Or, when should I show him some animes? And what? I mean spirited away or ponyo seems like a good start but again at what age?
For the time being I'll stick to Elmo and bob the builder, and Pixar movies. Gotta love those Pixar movies.

Currently finishing up watching Baccano!, it's only 16 episodes long but somehow manages to have like 30 different "main" characters spread across several years and not even be a little bit confusing. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes nonlinear storytelling. Also I'd watch the whole series again just for Isaac and Miria's scenes because they're just that perfect.
DIFFERENT SHOW: Did anyone else feel like they would have enjoyed Gurran Lagann a whole lot more if not for the fact that it had only about 2 characters in the whole show that were even remotely likable?

I don't think it would be physically possible for me to enjoy Gurren Lagann regardless of how likable the characters were or weren't.
That said, Baccano! is one of the very, very few animes I've ever been able to genuinely say I enjoyed. Whether it's because I watched it with a friend and had good times with him or because I'm a sucker for nonlinear storytelling and can be easily tricked into liking something if it's even a little artsy or, God forbid, it's actually a good show, I'd recommend other people watch it. I would disagree re: Isaac and Miria, though; I feel like they're largely just kind of there from a narrative perspective to be wacky and highlarious in a very serious, usually-dark, story. They're the weakest part of everything – them or Ladd I suppose, who I felt was too over-the-top to really be a truly effective villain.

As much as I like Gurren Lagann it still suffers from typical Gainax funding, meaning they concentrate most of the money into the second half so quite a lot of the first episodes are frankly awful
I'd like to pretend the bathhouse episode never happened at all

If you had remotely positive feelings about Inception and Black Swan, watch Paprika and Perfect Blue. If you hated Inception and Black Swan, watch those other two anyway. Every Satoshi Kon work I have seen so far, I've enjoyed to pieces.
If you have remotely positive feelings about anything at all, watch Tokyo Godfathers. That may be the one anime I could recommend to almost anyone (who doesn't mind reading subtitles), even if they aren't interested in anime. Actually, drop everything and watch Tokyo Godfathers right now. You can come back and internet stab me if you absolutely hated it.
Kakurenbo is also creepy and pretty to look at, but it is incredibly hard to find. It's online, but none of the copies I've found do the animation justice.

I keep meaning to start one of those folders and put it next to my also nonexistant reaction image folder, but I have gone so long not saving everything I find amusing on the internet I never remember to.

I have a bunch of folders where I save images I like. For example, "Downloads", and "My Documents\Work\Private\New Folder". I used to save images to this folder but then I got bored with it

I think theres a diference between wacky internet macros and cool things. I do have one folder full of cool (mostly illustrations) and several bookmarks of sweet landscapes.

Yahoo.com is giving away 5 million dollars to anyone who can pick a perfect NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT Bracket. Odds of that happening is 9.2 Quintillion To 1 according to this https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/03/12/...lion-to-1/
I LIKE those odds.

Someone just stabbed another guy and then got shot by police right by my mum's house. Such a great neighbourhood.

So I'm loving Cucumber Quest so far and I think I should be thanking/blaming either Jacq or Solaris for posting a link to it somewhere.

Late reply to supes: no, but I do have a folder full of reaction images. I call it "Reaction Images." What a surprise. I guess.

That commercial came on while I was sitting with a patient today and I had to do my best not to snicker at it in front of them.
