You wrap your arms around one of the pine trees and tear it from the cold earth. You do this three more times until you have four trees lined up on the riverbank. You walk around the perimeter of each, tearing off branches and roots until they are mostly log shaped. With some clever engineering, you create some "ropes" out of branches tied together into knots.
Once your raft is assembled, you kick it halfway into the river. It looks pretty rough, and you can already see parts of it are falling apart. Will you go for a ride?

If you can swim, and survive a dunk in the frigid river when things go sideways... do it!!
If not, don't be crazy. Repurpose them logs somehow.

You are unafraid of the river. You can swim better than any orc, and besides you have a boat that more or less floats.
You kick the raft the rest of the way into the river and climb onto it. Immediately one of the logs slips away from your vessel. You put your satchel of bones down, lie against the logs and hold them together with your arms. It's not graceful, but you will be able to float. And float you do. The river will take you downstream for as long as you allow it to. How long is that?

You hold the logs together as you drift down the river. The rocking of the water is soothing and you find yourself in a deep, meditative calm. Time passes, but you're not sure how much. The sun went down at some point. Your calm is broken by a jolt of pain as your raft bashes into something solid. You raise your head up and realize you've ended up stuck against a strange stone and wood building. You are next to the shore, so you collect your belongings and climb off the raft. It immediately falls apart and goes down the dark river.
There is a big wheel being turned by the movement of the water. You've never seen anything like it. You circle the structure and find a solid wooden door into the building. There is a slight window in the door, and you can see light inside. The light grows, and eventually the door opens and you see the most bizarre thing you have ever seen before. It is an orc. Only smaller than normal orcs. And instead of being pure white, it is the color of dried grass. It has no fangs. When it sees you, its eyes go wide and it starts to make frantic sing-song sounds. The door slams and you hear more sing-songs inside, from the first small orc and then from others you haven't seen yet inside. What do you do now?

Knock on (not down) the door and see what happens. They'll either go very, very quiet, or start making some hilarious noises

You push the door open. Three smaller-than-orcs scatter across the room as you step inside. One of them is chattering more of that sing-song. She looks angry and afraid. Every orc is afraid of you, because you are bigger and stronger than they are. You wonder if they have any food.
There are only three rooms in this shelter. You walk into another one and find some salted fish hanging from a beam on the ceiling. You pull them into your mouth and eat them. Something sharp goes into your back. You look behind you and see the angry small orc who was chattering at you, holding a bloody hatchet. You feel your back and notice the wet hole where the small orc struck you. How does this aggression make you feel?

You would have thought an orc as small as this would know better than to attack you; especially with such a tiny axe.
You turn to face her and snatch the axe out of her hand. It is tiny, and it looks like something a weak creature would use to chop through wood. You splinter the wooden handle and the metal head falls to the floor. You feel drops of blood tickle the back of your legs as your wound bleeds. While you consider this sensation, the little orc runs away from you. You hear the three small orcs scramble out of the building, shouting in their bizarre language as they run farther and farther away into the night. You finish eating the last of the fish. You're full, but angry. What will you do now?

You explore the dwelling more and find a few beds that are too small for you. You drag one into the other and then lie across both of them. They are more comfortable than the orcish beds you've slept on before, and vastly more comfortable than a cold hole in the ground covered in a rock. Your back hurts slightly, but there's nothing to be done for it.
You sleep soundly until you are woken up by the sounds of shouting and metal-on-metal outside. Some morning light is coming through the window of the room you are in. You step out of bed and grab your bag of bones. Outside the window you see a perimeter of those small orcs, only they are all covered in metal armor and brandishing weapons. When one sees you he shouts in alarm and the others near him all look at the window. An orc, taller than the rest (But still much shorter than you), in more impressive armor than the others steps in front of her companions. She barks more of that incomprehensible language at you, and waits. What will you do?
