Yeah, it's a gif. I'm not sure how long it took to make, since it's sort of an evolution of this series of pictures:

Really, I cheated and used the smudge tool in Photoshop, smudging and duplicating layers until I had a series of layers that got progressively more warped. I duplicated them some more and inverted about half of them (another Photoshop cheat) to make it more flashy. Then I overlaid those with the layers of Bob cowering in fear (also about half-inverted). The trick with this one was that I duplicated the completed frames in reverse order so that it would loop back on itself without being too jarring.
