Spoiler>Adler: Despite your previous confidence, you simply cannot refuse a request from Ethel. You act too quickly and without thinking, not to mention you're still high. You set yourself on fire.
>Ethel: Quickly help Adler put out his burning fur. You know, you were almost impressed for a moment, then he did that.
>Adler: In some desperate attempt to try and salvage the situation and impress Ethel, summon an Ixie to relay your new plans, to show Ethel your tactical genius. You'll need to act quickly, anyway, since the shrubs are already on the move.
>Ixie: Inform Adler that you and the others have been watching the entire time and taking bets on how badly he would embarrass himself.
>Ethel: Try and fail to hold back a laugh. Even Adler's own minions think he's a complete doofus.
>Ethel: He's got a lot to prove. You'll have to wait and see if this scheme of his actually works. You're starting to approach that age where it will be very difficult to find a mate. He has some scant amount of potential, at least. It's like your mother used to say, "A bit of a fixer-upper." Fuma rest her charred bones... Oh, you've made yourself sad now...
>Duchess: Smugly gloat about how clever your plan was to put a mental and physical link to your poppet so you'd know and feel if anything happens to it. You suddenly explode. Through the fire and smoke, shriek at your son-nephews that this is probably their fault.
