[Quinn looks down]

Quinn
“Yes”

[Quinn’s sister stares at them for a moment, then proceeds to write something down]

Quinn’s sister
“‘No’…”

Quinn
“Hey! I said yes!”

[Quinn’s sister stares at them again and clicks her pen]

[Quinn stares right back, arms crossed and frowning]

[Then Quinn’s expression softens once they realize—]

Quinn, angry
“You didn’t open your mouth that time!”

Quinn’s sister
“You know what I mean. Did you receive any of the thoughts I sent you?”

Quinn
“No…”

Quinn’s sister
“Now pay attention.”

Quinn, curling into a ball and mumbling
“I don’t know anyone else who needs to do ‘barrier breaking’ exercises.”

Quinn’s sister
“There’s lots of young dragons who do, actually. You just haven’t met them.

Quinn
“Maybe I would meet them if I could just leave.”

[Quinn covers their face. It seems they might start crying]

Quinn’s sister
*Sigh* “I know you’re upset. That’s normal. But you’re not the only one who wasn’t allowed to go on the trip. Don’t be selfish.”

Quinn
“They didn’t even tell me they were going. How long were they planning it…?”

Quinn’s sister
“Don’t think about that. Just focus on the exercise. Okay?”

[Quinn won’t make eye contact]

Quinn
“I don’t wanna be stuck here.

Quinn’s sister
“Quinn, look at me. You know they did it to protect you. You’ll get your chance to travel someday. I promise. Will you focus now?”

…

Quinn
“Fine.”
