Garreth: .... You're getting your wires crossed, Derrick.
Derrick: Huh?
Garreth: "You" didn't leave that there. Lexii did.
Garreth: If you have to explain that part, you messed up the first part about you not knowing her status until today.

Derrick: I could explain that I've grieved for her in the past when she stopped coming around. I had gotten a letter that she was.... In a coma.
Derrick: And then maybe talk about the things we did as kids.
Derrick: I feel like talking about how she was when she was awake would be something she'd want to hear, as she wasn't around much.
Emily: That's a great idea, Derrick!
Emily: There's nothing more comforting that reliving a memory in fondness of a loved one.
Emily: Lucia's mother may be in terrible pain, but I think you may have the answer.
Garreth: Okay, with this, it should be a good start.
Garreth: Now let's think about a case where none of this works out.
Garreth: Perhaps she doesn't believe anything you say, or something you do say angers or saddens her, what then?
Derrick: Never mind what ifs, Garry.
Garreth: Derrick, it's still early, there's no rush.
Derrick: I'll need my head clear on what I must act with, I can't be worrying on what will and won't work.
