So I'm back home and got my license officially translated (50 bucks) and applied at the NZTA to convert my Japanese license into a New Zealand one (another 50 bucks), a process that takes two weeks apparently and I'm forced to be a learner driver (i.e. non-driver, because you need supervision on a learner's license and being able to use a car myself was the whole point of getting it) until the new one comes in because of some dumbass loophole where I gotta abide by my 6-year old NZ learner license. Irritating and expensive, but at least there's no additional tests involved

I'm also trying to enrol for a distance learning horticulture course, but I was sent an email telling me to send a copy of my passport. Which is cool and alright but the email didn't tell me in the message that there's this cover letter they attached which they'd also like stuffed in the envelope. Which I went and bought this morning and addressed to the polytechnic.

It's a fuckin good thing I checked because the cover letter tells me to send shit to a different address! And now I'm at an internet cafe and can't print the cover letter cuz Gmail won't let me sign in without texting verification to my now-disconnected Japanese number!!! Fuck technology!!!!!!!
