Then when it makes a beeline for one of your books you can trap it inside by slamming the book closed on top of it. As you know, one of your culture's traditional methods of trapping evil spirits is stuffing them into books. Maybe the mysterious book you have is good at trapping spirits, maybe it gets more powerful the more spirits you put in it, maybe YOU get more powerful the more spirits you put in it. I don't know, try it out and see what happens. Should be interesting either way.
