Pokemon XY OU Monotype Tournament - STARTING

e: wouldn't it make more sense not to release the replays until the end of the tournament? You don't want people knowing what to expect from your team going into the fight.

I specifically kept mine secret from most of the tournament because a lot of my pokemon have lots of potential builds and unpredictability was part of the strategy!

I'm glad to see Talonflame go. Shit's bull. I mean, it's still going to suck going up against Whim's (assuming she has one), but I'm glad I don't have to worry about it in random matches.

Ubers still turn up in random battles! Like fucking kangaskhan, that OP piece of shit. You won't find it in any tiered battles though, thank goodness.

I meant when I search for OU Monotype battles with random opponents, not actual randbats. I do love randbats, though. Much more pleasant than Rand Bats, which flap around screeching about objectivity.

I have literally no problem against Talonflame, because I always run Barbaracle. I mean yeah Barbaracle's not even OU, but he counters Talonflame HARD.

There are too many types that don't have a reliable counter to Talonflame for it to be reasonable. I mean, I can count the number of fire or flying teams I played against without a Talonflame on one hand. In regular OU, it's not a huge issue since there are lots of ways around it, but if your type isn't one that has one such way, you often end up pretty fucked. It's not usually a full-game sweep or anything, but it's too consistent and trades for too many pokémon to be fair in a monotype setting.
