I'd love a UU tournament
As a newbie, UU seems like the most fun tier overall. It doesn't have the feel of "THESE ARE THE BEST POKEMON" that OU does while keeping a wide pool of pokemon to choose from. There's something satisfying about looking for a pokemon to do a specific job and finding a perfectly good one a tier down.

I'm fine with anything that doesn't start with a four letter word.

I just made a UU team so a UU tourney sounds fun!

Well it sounds like a vanilla UU tourney it is! I'll go on the assumption that anyone who voted for UU is interested in playing in it and add you to the signups. A week from today (Saturday) sounds like a good time to hold it. If you're interested in joining but I haven't already put you on the list, say so and I'll sign ya up! Any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask or make them here.
I assume we'll do a swiss tournament rather than an elimination bracket, since that's more fun for everyone overall. If we're using standard UU rules, a quick reminder: Only one of any given pokemon (including form(e)s; no two rotoms, no two gastrodons, no two shaymins) Not including sleep induced by Rest, you may not have two of your opponents' pokemon to sleep at the same time (Showdown will make your sleep moves fail in this case anyway, but it's worth knowing) No evasion (double team or minimize) No OHKO moves (Fissue, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Sheer Cold) No Moody None of these pokemon, or these, or these No Drought, Sand Stream, Sand Veil, or Snow Cloak No Swift Swim if you have Drizzle (not that you can get Drizzle in UU)

The following two UU matches against Slorange are reasons why I love Tropius.
Team 1 - cw: stall war between Tropius and Slowbro from turns 5 through 50. You'll probably get the gist if you watch up to 15 and then skip to 46 or so. Team 2 - Priority moves and Moxie Honchkrow <3

Stall war? Pffffffffffft
https://www.pokemonshowdown.com/replay/uu-16587007 TANK ON WALL ACTION (I'm putting Drain Punch on that Scrafty immediately) I'm actually really proud of that Scrafty, because he is my Scrafty. I designed him for utility. He has the max HP he could have, but instead of investing in Attack or Speed I split the EVs between his already good Defense and Special Defense to make him a tank, and gave him Knock Off to take off items and Super Fang to hit Bulky Pokemon. He HAD Foul Play to be able to fight strong attacking pokemon but that just has never really come up and, even with no extra attack invested, Drain Punch is probably a better option in the end. This fight is a pretty good reason why I think. DOUBLE EDIT: The Scrafty is now pretty different, he's got Toxic now, and Crunch as a STAB move.

Do we have a schedule for how the tournament will be going? Depending on the times, I may have to back out of it.
RE: Pokémon Showdown: The Eagledome

At the moment, the plan is to post the first pairings early in the morning, then have people report back to me as they complete their battles (preferably including a replay of it so I can showcase them all in the thread after the tournament); when everyone's done, I'll tabulate and post the next flights, then repeat.
Ideally, I'd schedule a time for everyone to get on and do their battles and then the next round would happen immediately thereafter, but with as many European and Austrazealish forumgoers as we have, that's just not practical. It's possible the tourney may take a couple days just for the challenge of getting disparately-time-zoned opponents matched up; I hope it can all happen Saturday, but I'm not marrying myself to the notion. If you're worried about time, you probably don't need to.

Alright, it's officially Saturday! I'd like to move this along as well as I can, so I figured I ought to post the pairings sooner than later. The first flight of battles is as follows:
BestTeaMaker vs TehPilot Ed vs myw Garuru vs Kíeros Mr. LL vs Mehgamehn Plaid vs Bigro SleepingOrange vs Schazer Nopad (bye) Get your battles in when you can, and when you do, the winner should PM me with the results! A draw is still a result; don't rematch in the event of one. Include a link to the replay of your battle so that we can all enjoy them after the tournament's over; I promise not to peek, as a participant and the organizer. On that subject, please don't change your team between matches; most of us have played most of the rest of us a few times and might have some idea of what to expect, so it's not fair to repeatedly tailor your team to the upcoming battle. Obviously I can't enforce this, but it's a casual tournament with no prizes! Be good sports. And have fun!

Good. Getting a bye was my only chance of advancing.
RE: Pokémon Showdown: The Eagledome

I've, uh
I've only got two results, guys! Also, as a result of the two results I've gotten, it's become clear that there's something I neglected to clarify: how many matches to play a round. One pairing I got just played the one, while the other did best-of-three. It's pretty arbitrary either way, honestly, and the tournament is small enough that I'm not going to need to establish strength of schedule based on 2-0 vs 2-1; since we've already got it going both ways, I'm just going to say decide with your partner before you start playing whether you want one match or best-of-three. As long as I get your results, it's all the same to me.

I haven't received any indication from Ed, Mr. LL, or Kíeros about their continued interest or even presence in this tournament. I'd like to get some confirmation from them that they are; failing that, I'll re-pair the people who haven't had a chance to play soon so we can, you know, move on.

I'll save you the time. I've been busy over the past week, and as such, have not worked on the team. Unless if anyone wants to battle thin air, I'm withdrawing from the tournament, and forfeiting any games that I'm involved in.

Count me out. I'm really not feeling it atm.
