A Forced Gift

You find yourself sitting across Sir Charles, your bodyguard. His stunning gaze is enough to give you the proverbial butterflies in your stomach.



His mouth moves yet produces no sound. You wish you could tell what he is saying.



He leans forward, closing the distance between you two.



You look in awe...

You extend your hand toward Charles, a dream come true.



But you rescind, noticing that he has something on his teeth. Not romantic, but he is only a person.



You open your mouth to speak, only managing, "....ir..... arle......."



Alarmed, but not deterred, you repeatedly attempt to speak.

My eyes flutter open, freeing myself from the strange dream. Feeling a wet sensation on my cheek, I prop myself up and look down at the pillows.



"Aw, I drooled."



I hear a knock and turn to see Sera the handmaiden with a sly grin.

"Oh good mooooorning, Princess Kate," she croons.

"Will you be joining the Queen and 1st Princess for a late breakfast? They've been waiting for such a looooong time."
