Bob: Since the coast is clear, it's time to step out and try and track those other guards from behind

You pop out of that office into the hallway. You can hear faint whispers down the hall.

EDIT:

Realized that I've never introduced myself here. Hi! I'm Reed, or conflictedContrarian on the LS discord!

My motive here is just to get the card and go. Personally, I think killing all the guards will take a long enough time and I agree with Keyriel that this might be a test. What people say, indeed, doesn't always represent what they feel.

Besides, it's more time efficient if we can just get the keycard and go.

Hello!

So we were discussing on the LS discord and considering information like this:

...that it might be in our benefit to expedite this process by just getting the Star and killing only if it's efficient.

There is the matter of the extra reward...

uA considered this prospect until it was confirmed that this has no benefit or effect on the story as a whole.

So, one possible proposition I threw out was:

How does this sound? This is only one flavor, because honestly, on this side, from this angle, it just looks like we wanna get back to dreaming children.

What say ya'll?

Seconding, and also, kind reminder that the author is very much an Undertale fan and at one point even stated that the game had a profound influence on how the Lucidstuck leveling mechanics were going to manifest.
(i suspect this later materialized into leveling items from bosses)

Now, if memory serves, there *was* a reward for completing a genocide run in Undertale....
it was...

You return to the office and rummage through the desk for the key card.

Woohoo! You got the key card, with this you can unlock the door leading to the obsidian star.

You check your radar for any nearby guards... Though it seems they're out of range.

>bob: look for a vent in this room, enter it, turn left (your left) and stay hidden inside the vent, wait for a guard to pass by and kill them, after that quickly go left and kill the other guard from behind.

since the guards cycle the floor in a counter clockwise manner, bob should be able to pull that off, after that we take the elevator down, take the star and go

There are 2 guards that are further away on this side but, someone is coming!

Hide behind the desk

You quickly dash behind the desk and a guard comes in. He pauses.

You stay where you are, while the guard moves towards your location.

Uh oh, he sees you! He's not quite sure why you look the way you do, but you better think fast!

>Bob: Ooooo~ I am the Ghost of the Obsidian Star! Return the stone! Or suffer my wrath.... (then quickly spin around so that he can't see you and exit, stage left)

[[Thanks AA over in #command-center-spoil for that last suggestion]]
