It's what Watson deserves for allowing his ally to take a hit like that with no prior warning of their capabilities such as "You may or may not be slain if you do not take any necessary precautions."

Albeit quite a mouthful. Maybe "Run" is the most optimal code of warning.

You conclude that Mayor is incredibly heavy and you're pretty sure that your back will be aching for the rest of the day. Or week, maybe.

Well, atleast you dragged him like a meter away from the immediate danger of getting stabbed and/or smashed.

In retrospect, this may not have been the most useful way to spend your time.

It looked like Bohw wasn't even phased by Mayor falling down. On the inside she wanted to break out into tears, but she had to quell any emotions for time being, lest she lose herself in the chaos. She stepped forward, "Savannah!" She called out, attempting to grab her attention. Once (and if) she looked, Bohw pointed at her with two fingers, then quickly pointed towards an empty area of the hallway where one could slip past, something Savannah would probably be very good at.

She stepped back again and loaded another arrow as she aimed at the Forsaken (The shadowy dagger man). The plan was that Savannah would sneak around in the chaos and drive that glaive into that fleshy monster's back, while it was too distracted by being shot by Bohw, hopefully she got the message. She added a bit of magic into the arrowhead as drew back the bow, letting it glint with an annoying light for a moment, for no real purpose other than to draw it's eye... or at least what was left of it.

Mayor finds himself falling into unconsciousness. But there was something he needed to do first that this mess might be brought to completion.
Mayor struggles to pry free the remains of his sundered armor plate, revealing the scrap metal beneath. Consciousness fading, he reaches into his chest to pull something free.

Mayor has lost Selfless II.

Mayor's arm falls limp at his side, a jagged crystal clattering across the floor before coming to a rest against the cavern wall.

Meanwhile, Bohw is busy firing at the Forsworn! Your arrow goes wide, but you seem to have attracted the attention of the shadow-figure! (Hit 3 Vs Defense 8)

Bohw's, to be specific. Cocking an eyebrow in surprise, she glanced at the sort of dip in the hallway, tilting her head. Now what was their leading motioning on about? Savannah understood once Bohw loaded up another arrow, a grin forming on her face. She shot Bohw a mock salute and scurried off to the small dip in the hallway, slipping quietly behind the enemy.

Savannah loomed behind their enemies, waiting for a signal or something. It came when a sharp glint of light blinked on the other side of the Forsaken. Yeah, that was probably the signal. Savannah waited for the arrow to fly before lunging forward and ramming the glaive through the shadow creature's back, feet aiming for the back of the thing's knees. Or, at least, where she assumed they were.

Bohw's attack might not have been a success, but it's still distracted your quarry! You dart forward and stab your glaive through- nothing? (Hit 8+6 Vs Defense 8+8)

In the blink of an eye, the shadow has disappeared, flashing towards Bohw where it reforms, dagger plunging into her side for 660 damage!

Then the massive armor charges at your unprotected back, swinging its blade in an overhead strike! Fortunately you hear this coming from miles away and with a quick glance at your foe, nimbly duck beneath the incredibly linear attack. (Hit 1+4 Vs Defense 7)

You heal yourself for 202 and boost your defense by 3! (Roll 5+6)

Your soldier stabs the Forsworn for 13 damage. (roll 2)

It might be worth noting that all actions with multiple effects has its effectiveness split between the different effects, with a slight boost to the total value applied for each effect or unit it affects.

And now she has green paint on her. While she couldn't claim to care much about what colors she slapped on her figure, Myra was quite sure this shade in particular worked in all the wrong ways for her.

The ravenfolk's efforts to support her allies thus far have barely left a mark on the battle! Forget the healing, she wants to take out her anger on these abominations! Let's see, but which to start on? Hmm...Perhaps The Forsaken....Yes, The Forsaken, who is currently targeted by others, it seems. Maybe she could help expedite its fall.

Myra weaves together a spell to sling at The Forsaken that will increase the damage it takes from her allies for the next few turns. She also pulls out her Silken Strands to have it at the ready for later.

You curse the Forsworn with vulnerability, causing it to take an additional 50% damage until up to 683 bonus damage has been dealt. (roll 13+9+4)

Kyllik Wrote:"EhehAh-ahaHAh, oh but how we've come full circle! Relive your suffering through me."

With a storm of souls surging through you, you reach out to Razan's mind and seize it. Unburdened by pretense of sanity, its easy to slip into this mind that you once knew so well. You crush it under your will.

Now fueled by the pain of your merciless invasion, you direct Nishio to lash out at the shell of his former self, wielding a blade hewn from light that is both you and yours, dealing 1109 damage to Razan and the Forsaken and smiting the demonic corpse for an addional 2363! The myriad of souls that had possessed the broken husk are cleansed by the blade of light, leaving the corpse to fall to the ground in a heap, empty at last. Such was the fate of those who were left behind.

While you are gloating over this brilliant application of justice and vengeance, Razan musters enough willpower to shut you out just in time for you to come to yourselves and see Corvid rising to her feet in front of you. Her first action is to leap into your face and rake her claws across your face, then stab her broken stub of an arm into your guts, dealing 320 and 630 damage, respectively.

Bohw's cried out in pain, dropping her longbow to the ground as she jumped away from her attacker, retreating back a bit as she gripped the wound in her side. Her breathing was heavy and black wisps of demonic magic had started to form around her.

"Watson! Leave him!" She demanded, her tone almost a shrieking one. "Kill these bastards!" Breathing a black mist from her mouth, Bohw then turned her head towards Thunderpaw, the hellbent aura fully consuming her form as she channeled a demonic spell in her hand.
"And you... Kyllik, make yourself useful and help me out here."

Myra grimaced as she saw Mayor on the floor in scraps. She wanted to rush over to the golem's side to fix the metal heap the best she could, but the ravenfolk had larger things to attend to. There were too many threats present for anyone to be safe, and something had to be done about that. "Just hold out for a little longer," Myra muttered as she began pooling her concentration. The words were directed to both her allies yet no one at all, simply a comfort for her to take in as she tried her best to do what she could in the moment.

The ravenfolk laced together a spell, projecting a magic attack that would Punish the Forsworn terribly. Punish the thing for causing so much trouble for those around her, and for keeping them for that Corvid woman to find her way to them again! "Wha-" Savannah skids to a stop, looking around in confusion at the lack of stabbing going on. The shadow had disappeared, only to reappear right before her eyes next to Bohw, driving its dagger into her before either could react. "Hey!" Just as Savannah is about to go help, however, a loud clanking interrupts her thoughts. A quick glance behind her reveals that stupid suit of armor, loudly clattering towards her. She cracks a smile despite herself and simply ducks as the sword whistles over her head.

"What, ya need a few more holes?" Now crouched on the ground, Savannah swings her glaive, knocking the Forgotten over using the pole of her weapon before springing up and driving the blade into the things back a few times.

It seems as though the whispers are all around you and you let yourself be consumed by their rage. To your demonic eyes, it becomes all too clear that your attacker is the shade of the bastard who murdered Darril. He steps over your discarded bow and slashes his cursed dagger across your face, dealing 400 damage and spilling your black blood! In a rage, you rip into his dark form with talons hewn from black magic, dealing 588 damage. (roll 9+9+6)

You lock swords with the hollow knight, trading blow after blow with him, letting sparks fly with each clash until your smaller blade slips past his guard to pierce his breastplate for 372 (roll 6+7+4), thin cracks spreading throughout the armor, rapidly followed by a layer of rime flowing from the cold sheen that envelopes your blade.

Then the armor brings his greatsword to bear in a mighty downward blow, not on you but on the starmetal blade lodged into him in the space between you. The much larger black sword impacts at the base of the starmetal blade, an inch from the hilt. The starmetal snaps, shattering into three pieces that clatter to the floor and leaving you holding the hilt.

Then the armor steps closer and backhands you across the face with his massive gauntlet to deal 600 damage, sending you staggering in shock.

Time seems to slow down, and with the orb gifted to you by Renzo, you weave thick ropes of water laced with pure power, lashing them at the back of the shadowy figure assaulting Bohw in dazzling display of hydromancy, alternating between the crushing weight of water and a fine edge of cutting water, wielded like several flowing swords that hack the ephemeral shadow apart under your command, inflicting 5846 damage (roll 20+9, crit)! The shadowy figure writhes under your assault.

But you're not done yet. Seeing the great effect of your attack, you repeat it, albeit woven from pure magic this time, inflicting another 2923 damage on the rapidly dissipating shadows, just for good measure.

Knocking over an animated suit of fullplate proves to be a task just shy of even your enchanted strength and you waste valuable time heaving at your glaive! As it turns towards you, you just settle for poking holes in the black plate for 656 damage. (roll 7+8+8)

You shield Myra for 398 damage (roll 7+6) with a swirling layer of paint! And why yes, the purple color just fits her so much better, a brilliant match to the shade of her eyes.

Then, with a snap of your fingers, you call the remaining shard to you from where Mayor dropped it. Sensing a change within the vortex of souls that is slowly filling the cavern, you look up to see several of them writhing, resolving into shapes. Not about to let that pass, you consume as many of the afflicted souls as you can and trap several more within the locket hanging around your neck, but many are yet left.

You turn away and move to face Razan, striding towards him while he is still reeling from your earlier invasion of his mind.

"What must I do?" You demand, forming a telekinetic fist to lift from off the ground by the scruff of his neck. The blade of light falls to the floor and vanishes with a flash, leaving the cavern in darkness once more as Razan is left to futilely kick at the air beneath him, seeking a foothold that is not there.

"We dont know." He gasps. "She never told us. Thirty years and never another word on why. We are left blind in the darkness."

You hesitate for a moment, then resolutely throw the crystal shard at him as if it was a dagger, spinning end over end before burying itself in his chest for 1110 damage. His eyes open wide with pain, but then he smiles as you gently lower him to the cavern floor.

"Thank you."
"Thank you..."

At your call, each shard lit from within by a dim light comes floating to you, forming a halo over your outstretched hand.

Six out of seven. It would have to be enough, for the last is now long lost to you.

He lets his inhibitions fly, tossing the hilt to the ground... not even take the time to reach for his own blade! Watson's arms loosen and grab onto the hollow knight, and with newfound vigor, a frenzied strength from within, he lifts it high into the air and slams it onto the cavern floor, crashing its fragile form into the ground.

The fact that magical paint is continuously being flung at her is nagging at the corners of Myra's thoughts, but she certainly paid it no heed when her spell finally was executed with the power and grace that would make her oldest brother grin with a prideful satisfaction. It's okay, though, because she will get better, and will be flinging amazing spells like that left and right in time! ...In time.

"Caw caw motherflocker," Myra mutters as she turns away from what used to be her shadowy enemy as she faces the rest of the scenario with a boosted ego. She then sees about dealing some more damage on The Forgotten, who is looking very worn as it is. This battle needs to end, and that's about all she understands of all of the crazy nonsense that is going on around her- mostly with Bohw, Mayor and Cottontail over there, looking like he's possessed and all. Gods, what sort of contracts did that bunni get into? Does he get extra benefits since HE'S the animal sacrifice in the ritual??

She feels a little bitter about herself for at first thinking 'how dare that possessed rabbit steal that kill', shaking off the sinister thought as she continued to focus on keeping her composure.

That wasn't important. The right thing to do was to bathe that monster in hellfire- and maybe anyone else within the close proximity of it, if it couldn't be avoided.
