SHOUTY LOUD NOISES ANNOUNCEMENT!
Eagle Time will be going down at 8 PM ATLANTIC TIME (midnight GMT) on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 CE. (28 hours from the time of post.)
In order to update the forum to the latest version of MyBB, I'm going to be taking down the forum for up to two hours (approximately 2 milliMSPAFs, by current values). I've run through the update on a test clone of the site, and it'll probably take substantially less time than that, but I want to give myself some breathing room. In the event that I find myself creeping up on the two-hour mark thanks to unexpected difficulties, I'll restore what we've got right now and reschedule for a longer downtime.
If you want to follow along with what'll be going on as it on-goes, I'll be on IRC in #eagletime (on EsperNet) providing blow-by-blow coverage of what's going on. Because that's the sort of thrilling television you want to watch!
Again, that's 8 PM AST, 28 hours from this post. If you've got any questions, find me and interrogate me. I'm sure I'll cooperate with minimal waterboarding!

*brandishes hand-held vocoder*
Rumours are in circulation that the timing of this upgrade coincides with the widely-criticised extended downtime associated with one "MSPA Forums". One particular co-admin insists the forum upgrade is nothing but "one-upmanship" on your part.
How do you respond to these allegations?

How can it be upcoming if it is also downtime
That doesn't make any sense
It'd have to either be downcoming or uptime

Oh, please. Given the length MSPA Forums' ongoing downtime and the number of years that humanity has had computing technology, we're actually at a point where it's nearly a statistical impossibility to NOT coincide with their upgrade. My focus is on the glorious wonder of Eagle Time, not some other mostly-silly propaganda aggregator of a forum.

It was an administrative compromise. As one half of this forum's administration is in an upside-down hemisphere, the decision was made to make one half of the up/down-date process inverted for fairness' sake.

Pinary, see if you can get that vocoder off her and include it in the forums update.

Either you mean something else or this is kiwi talk, because a hand-held vocoder is like my fantasy come true.
No, sorry :c I meant something along the lines of a handheld voice recorder like a journalist-type might use.

It takes into account being in half an hour, if that answers your question.
(By the way folks, just a reminder, the forums are going down in about half an hour.)

And we're done! The forum is now on the latest version of MyBB, and that means there are probably some bugs fixed and maybe some bugs introduced. (The wonders of software!) If you've got an issues that weren't resolved in the update or new issues that it created, post here and let me know.
