RE: Grand Battle (S?) (Round 1: SUDDEN DEATH IN 4 DAYS)

Tome howled- and with him, his Clambeast did the same.

Everything shook. His eyes temporarily stopped working and his insides felt like they were boiling. For all his preparation, Tome was not capable of negating the agony of being directly in the Shell beast's blast.

But it was a good pain. Everything was acceptable, so long as...

...

Tome regained his ability to use his eyes, and found no hooded corpse.

His eyes darted. Where? Where?

But he found nothing but sand.

"No..."

The Three-fringed Shell Rider's calm cracked.

"NOOOO!" He bellowed, rivaling the Clam Beast.

He lashed out wildly with his spears, violently keeping his attacker at bay, not wanting to concern himself with the meaningless battle anymore.

"I... it can't be true. I... my friend... I'll fix this."

Using his freely manipulated spears, he rapidly advanced towards the source of the cry.

Doppel winced, this guy was insane. How could he possibly work with someone like this? He rested atop one of the few unbroken coral pillars left, a sledgehammer with a head of coral dangling from his grip. Tome's crazed confusion nearly drew a chuckle from him, before he remembered the power the madman held. With a sigh, he pulled out the coral encyclopedia and whisked himself away, going to find a quiet place to study the beast's weaknesses.

Ganger reached up, wiping the trickle of blood that leaked from his ears as his opponent, the fish man with the funky spears, screamed once again. The lunatic. He made a final, successful parry, his machete preventing a spear from lodging into his mask. The force made him stumble back, and when he regained himself, the mermaid had fled. Ganger laughed out loud. What a sucker. Still chuckling to himself, he walked down into the water and disappeared from sight the moment his head went under.

RE: Grand Battle (S?) (Round 1: SUDDEN DEATH IN 1 DAY)
Kyle sat there, forehead pressed to the microphone, letting his eyes focus on the metal mesh of the device and go blurry again. It was another one of those times that the writing department had their chance to "stop the presses" and throw in a last minute change, forcing everyone to wait for them to get off their high horses. He flipped aimlessly through the script to the last page, finding where he had left off. There were maybe ten words left for him to say, but seeing as the writers were having their tantrum he guessed another twenty lines would end up finding their way to that page.

Kyle visualized a coin in his head and flipped it in the air with a thought. "Heads, we get a 'TO BE CONTINUED' and I'm here chatting with merfolk for another hour. Tails, they drop everything they set in motion and Krug's getting shipped off to Mars to fight some space weasels." The coin fell back down from its imaginary arc and clattered onto the table. Kyle sighed and thought about the outcome before realizing there's probably wasn't anything more biased than a game of chance that existed only in his own head. That and the fact that he didn't really care what the writers did. Just so long as they made SOMETHING happen.

Woop woop ok it is officially sudden death! Cat, Brom, and Elize's characters are more-or-less NPCs unless their authors jump in and give a status report. If the three players we have in attendance narrate events to the point one Volter, Kaylee, or Sari dies, the round is over and the remaining two contestants will continue to operate on "basically NPC" status.

If Cat, Brom, or Elize make a post before their character is murderised, they're no longer eligible for elimination and you have to treat their respective character with the usual trappings of courtesy.

Let's do this!

RE: Grand Battle (S?) (Round 1: SUDDEN DEATH)
The building shuddered, its slow death finally coming to an end. The majestic coral palace was finally going to be no more. Doppel sat on one of the few spires still left above water, a strange being balanced precariously next to him on one of the offshoots. His left hand held a metallic notebook, using his ring finger to flip the pages. His right held the baseball bat he used to make sure the fox next to him didn't fall off. With a scoff, he snapped the book shut and slipped it into his pocket.

Kaylee was startled awake by the sound of a book shutting. She almost tried to stand up, but her feet didn't hit solid ground. Just... air. Unfortunately, her momentum kept her going, and the thin platform she was placed upon wasn't big enough to help her stop. As her pelvis slipped off, something cold caught the back of her shirt and yanked her back onto the thing. A chill ran down her spine as she turned to see her savior. Before seeing him, she caught a glimpse of the crowbar he held, which he must have used to catch her. He was man with a wooden mask. Although she couldn't see his face, she could feel the smirk when he spoke.

"Ah... my dear Kaylee. What a predicament you've gotten yourself into, stuck up here. Would you like some help?"'Up here?' Once she looked down, she regretted ever moving from the spot she had found herself in. For if she hadn't moved, she wouldn't have been found by this creature. With a sigh, she relented, against all logical thought. "I do seem to be in a bit of trouble." Doubt attacked her the second he spoke again. "Perfect."

Reserve good sirs!

And fair warning, given the situation I believe my post will be fatal. If anyone else wants to put in their two cents in before the round closes, I'll give you 24 hours to message me and I'll give you the floor. If not, I'd suggest those still in the game get ready to move out :)

Remember, the round ends after one contestant dies, and the host has to add the round transition!

Just in case you were planning to slaughter off half the cast right here and now.
