Riddle-o-Puzzler: Redemption.

This puzzle has already been solved, but you can still solve it if you don't open any spoilers outside of this post!

Oh no, your memories have all been lost in a wager, and the only clue you have as to what really went down and what you can do to get them back is this series of nine encrypted riddles! If you solve all of them, you should be able to figure out what kind of mythical creature you are, the date and month on which your memories were lost, what you'll need to find in order to trade back for your sweet, precious memories, the name of the game you bet on, and what kind of mythical creature you were gambling with.

One of these riddles asks for a specific word on a specific page in a specific book. If you can tell me the name of the book as well as the page and word numbers, I will reveal the word. Of course, if you happen to have that book, or feel like tracking down a copy from the library or something, feel free to do that.

Oh, yes, I should probably mention, the idea is for prospective puzzle-solvers to collude and ask questions and theorize here in the thread. No need to have anything concrete before posting. Work together!

I'm tempted to believe the black letters aren't actually part of the cipher, cause in each box there is 80 individual characters if you remove the black one from the question, and multiples of 8 are more... Mathy numbers then most, for lack of a better phrase (that I can actually remember!).

Nope! 9 is a very important number in this puzzle.

Akumu already solved the entire thing!!!!! I mean, those are all correct answers, but I was thinking more along the lines of a Leprechaun (snake saint lucky jump) challenging an Ouroboros to a game of Ticktacktoe and needing a Lotus to recover from losing. There's really no one to blame but myself for that not being the exact answer Akumu arrived at, A because assuming that the puzzlers would consolidate four answers into the exact same output that I did is probably not a good idea, and B because I was dumb and asked the questions that the keywords are the answers to out of the order in which the answers are uncovered, again assuming people will just think about them the same way I did.

Anyway, major kudos to you, Akumu! You cracked it unbelievably faster than I thought anyone would, though your apparent familiarity with the Collosal Book of Mathematics is a pretty good start at making it believable. I apologize for my aforementioned stupid mistakes, which, unfortunately, might make it appear that you didn't solve it properly. Let me make it clear to everyone that that is not the case! I have made the necessary revisions, and will take greater care in the future.
