Fire Emblem: Gods of the Celestial Realm [SIGNUPS]

Long ago, the Gods of the Celestial Realm lived in harmony with the Men of the Mundus Realm. For centuries, peace resided in the world. But it was not to last, for a creeping darkness soon swept arcross the land. This darkness poisoned the hearts of Men, instilling fear and greed and hatred. Wars ravaged the land as brothers and friends struck each other down. Soon, the darkness sought to spread its chaos beyond the human realm. Struck with fear, the Gods fled the Mundus Realm, powerless against this unknown evil that rendered their powers useless. They sought to seal off their world, preventing the darkness from consuming them.

One, however, decided to stay and fight.

Altea, the Goddess of Light, stayed on the world of Mundus as her brethren fled. With her she brought a sacred ore of the Celestial Sky, and with the common ore of the Mundus Earth, she created a wondrous relic, the Fire Emblem. Under the banner of Altea and the Fire Emblem, men united and rose up against the darkness, striking evil at its heart. Soon, they were victorious, banishing the darkness back to the void from whence it came. The people worshiped Altea, their savior Goddess, and scorned the others who fled in their time of need.

Sensing a growing rift between Men and Gods, Altea decided to seal the pathway between the Realms with the power of the Fire Emblem. She then divided the Fire Emblem into five pieces and presented them to five great heroes of the war, confiding in their abilities to keep the Emblem safe. And so, after her work was done, Altea slept, becoming one with the world and bringing new life to the ravaged lands.

Ages have past as memory turned into history, and history into legend. Now, under the watch of the Five Domains, the world, now named Ala'altea is at peace. But there is a dark murmuring in the shadows, an ancient evil that seeks to once again engulf the world in darkness. Soon, Men will find itself in a great conflict once again, and must turn to the long forgotten deities, the very same who abandoned them so very long ago to their world behind a great seal.

They will seek the Gods of the Celestial Realm

ATTENTION!

The Blades of Altea is now hiring aspiring adventurers, warriors, sellswords and dreamers alike to serve the land of Ala'altea and all the people therein. The Blades are an independent outfit, loyal not to kings and their land, but to the people who reside upon it. We wield our blades not to wage war, but to protect the peoples graced by the goodness of the Goddess Altea. Led by Alabaster the Crucible, we lead an army strong and true, with bases within each of the Five Domains. Recruits who wish to pledge their loyalty to the cause and take up the Blade may read on below to learn how to apply.

-Application-

Applications must be written in the format provided. Failure to do so will cause your application to be skipped over. During the time of review, we will randomly choose a certain number of people to begin actively serving in the band. Those have not been chosen, however, will still be considered in future reviews as more positions and places open within the Blades. If you happen to know a friend or lover, or happen to be related to an applicant or member, by all means mention it. We welcome relationships like these. And please, make sure to only write one Application unless you have decided to change what sort of services you wish to pledge to our cause.

-Evaluation-

Once you have been accepted to join the ranks of the Blades, we will perform a simple Evaluation on you to determine your abilities and aptitude based on the following statistics.

Hit Points (HP): The amount of health you possess
Attack (STR or MAG): The strength of your attacking abilities
Skill (SKL): Your ability to land accurate hits and critical attacks
Speed (SPD): How swift you are in combat, sometimes leading to an extra attack
Luck (LCK): How lucky you are at dodging attacks
Defense (DEF): Your ability to resist physical attacks
Resistance (RES): Your ability to resist magical attacks
Movement (MOV): The distance you can cover in a round of battle

We will also use this time to predict your potential for growth, known as your Growth Rates. As you grow stronger, you have a certain chance to raise a certain stat. This Evaluated Growth Rate will be added to your Class Growth Rate to determine your full abilities.

You will be given your supplies and munitions at this time as well. You may trade your items with a fellow member at any time after the Evaluation is complete.

We must remind everyone here that the Evaluation will only be done once. You may not complain about your Evaluation or demand a re-Evaluation unless we are certain we have done this in error. Doing so will result in immediate termination from the Blades.

-Classes-

Here are the classes that we are currently accepting. The following list contains two parts: the first is a list of classes that we are currently in need of and encourage these people to participate. The second is a list of classes that we wish to employ, but are currently unable to accommodate due to either lack of positions or just a lack of need. If you are considering applying for a job in the second part, you may still submit an application, but you will not chosen until we are in need of your class. Information on each class will update when that class is needed.

-Map-

The lands of Ala'altea are steeped in a rich history. Please feel free to familiarize yourself with the Five Domains as we provide a quick guide for where you may possibly be serving.

The Kingdom of Sothesia
Led by the venerable King Graskin, Sothesia finds itself in a rich, fertile land in the southern parts of the world. The Sothesian Army consists of the finest trained cavalry in all of Ala'altea, based in the great capital of Altamea. Peace is Sothesia's creed, and yet they will not hesitate to go meet their enemies head on in the heat of battle, for none is more fierce than the ranks of Sothesia's great army.

The Kingdom of Pelia
The hardy kingdom in the northern mountains of Ala'altea, Pelia is a land ruled by strength and will. From behind the great walled fortress of Peliangarde, Lord Feren leads his great Wyvern Platoon, defending his land from all who dare oppose it. Although the land is barely fertile, the people are full of hope and promise, finding their work in the bustling port towns that dot Pelia's enormous coastal region.

The Republic of Erida
Under the careful watch of the republican leaders and Magistrate Jenison, Erida is a land filled with knowledge and history. The Mage's College is located in the capitol Rorschen, accepting promising pupils from all over Ala'altea. Ruins dot the landscape of Erida, filled with mystery and wonder that drive scholars and dreamers alike to seek answer to questions of ages long past.

The Sovereignty of Altea
As the center of the Altean Worship, Altea is a small domain named for and founded upon the teachings of the Goddess Altea. The Radiant Tissana leads her people in prayer to the Goddess as they spread their teachings of love and kindness to the far corners of Ala'altea. Missionaries train in solitude at the Altean Temple in Eo'altea before embarking on their pilgrimage of peace.

The Protectorate of Rua
Through the prosperity of its bustling trade centers, Rua leads Ala'altea in wealth and riches, despite being located in a far corner of the world. With its headquarters at Rua City, the oligarch, headed by the twins Pannis and Dennis, ensure fair trade within their lands and all they deal with. A powerful navy protects their shores and their tradeships. It is known to all that a ship sailing with the Ruan flag is sure to have the best goods available.

Thank you for taking your time to read this announcement. Remember, we do not turn away anyone who wishes to serve the great peoples of Ala'altea. We are blind to the borders that separate the Five Domains and pledge our might to help the people in their greatest time of need.

May Altea's blessings be upon you all.

Name: Iremia
Class: Pegasus Knight
Bio: Though Iremia is from the Sovereignty of Altea, her parents were immigrants from the Protectorate of Rua. Incredibly wealthy merchants, they sailed the seas selling fine cheeses and bread from France. While journeying with her parents, a terrible sea monster attacked. The Kraken roared its terrible roar a tore the ship in half. Stranded on the remains of her bed, Iremia prayed to the goddess Altea for a miracle. Suddenly, a beautiful pegasus flew down from the heavens, slipping past the Kraken's deadly spikes and Iremia leapt on. Though she had never ridden a horse before, it was okay, because the pegasus made sure she didn't fall off as he flew Iremia to the safe shores of tSoA.

Later she read in the news that the Kraken brought her family safe to Rua, but it had still devoured the breads and cheeses and destroyed their boat. For robbing her family of those profits, Iremia swore vengeance and joined the pegasus riders of Altea, to learn how to fight. Everyday, she thanks Altea for saving her and bringing her this horse, which she has named Butterfingers.

Later, when her family found her again in tSoA and they told her that the Kraken had paid for all the damages and the food it ate, she gave up her quest for vengeance and decided to help the blades of altea save the world instead.

Image: [Image: 3dCupKa.png]
Name: Sorma
Class: Mage
Bio: Once a proud Pelian Wyvern Knight, Sorma is the world's least likely mage if one is going by appearance. Too many border patrols led Sorma to the bottle, and one unfortunate night a particularly brisk storm dismounted the drunken erstwhile knight while he and his wyvern were some 20 feet in the air. One could assume, correctly, that he absorbed the majority of the impact with his face.

Luckily enough, the fall awakened his latent magical abilities. Disgraced and somewhat bitter, he left Pelia and the Wyvern Platoon and joined the Blades after a brief stint in Rua serving as a mercenary mage.

Name: Geth
Class: Cleric
Bio: Geth onced served as a corrupt Shaman for a local bandit organization. After being visited by vision of Altea he revoked his sinister ways and took up the healing arts in attempt to undo the wrongs he had done in the past. Though many say they still see Geth off on unscheduled runs in the middle of the night only to return with a large sack of gold. I guess you could say that not all things change so suddenly.

He joined the blades shortly after a seemingly heroic rescue of the Marquis' daughter.

I made the portrait but a guy on another forum made the sprite and the sheet for me.

Name: Gotel
Class: Archer
Bio: Gotel has been a mercenary for years now. He is a carefree soul wandering the land putting his bow to use for whoever pays him to do so. At various times he has served as a bandit, pirate, soldier, farmer, thief, and even as a diplomatic envoy. All of the careers were short lived (particularly the last one), but through them all his trademark smile never faltered.

The only thing that does seem to shake Gotel from his cool demeanor is his irrational dislike of mages. Some say that a magic user killed his family in front of him, some say he had a witch for a lover that spurned him, but he just says "They're a bunch of hand wavin' book readin' pansies that couldn't bend a bow to save their lives!".

Image: [Image: cMYv2YE.png]
Name: Erikkin Jade
Class: Cavalier
Bio: Erikkin was born in Sothesia, but traces his family's routes back to Pelia. His father was career military and his older brothers were career military, so it was obvious what Erikkin was going to do with his life. His father made it hard for Erikkin, as he had for all his sons; they were not going to become complacent and die on his watch. Erikkin quickly rose above his brothers, making a reputation as a skilled if reckless firebrand. He left the Sothesian cavalry after losing two older brothers and almost losing his younger sister. He wants to make the world a safer place for his family.

Name: Wolfwood
Class: Shaman
Bio: Found in the ashes of his own home by a travelling monk, 10 year old Wolfwood was left without a home, without a family, with nothing but his name and no recollection of how all of this had happened to him.

Unbeknownst to him, it was he that brought about his own abandonment, as his unconscious dream-state brought dark flames flowing from the palms of his very hands. He would not wake from slumber until the following morning in a small town to the northeast of Rorschen.

At the age of 14 he was accepted as a pupil at the Mage's College, where he spent 3 of his teenage years honing his art, while always keeping to himself, as if knowing it was he that was at fault for the loss of his own family.

Image: [Image: 8Xk0hGa.jpg]
Name: Ebenezer
Class: Knight
Bio: Although he no longer serves his homeland, Ebenezer had once been decently ranked soldier. A Pelian through and through, he served his kingdom's army since his youth. While he was never a scholar among his colleagues, his aptitude, wisdom, and affability carried him through his military career. He decided after countless years to retire from the ranks and take up hermitage in the mountains.

He left his solitude of many years to join the Blades. Of course, after many years of not practicing, had become a bit rusty. Some say his joining was because he yearned for battle once more; others say it was to fulfill a debt.
Regardless of the reason, he was a stern believer in their cause, as he had been to his homeland before it.

Name: Emilia
Class: Cleric
Bio: The middle child in her family, Emilia was naturally always seeking a way to prove herself. To that end, she was a prime troublemaker in her youth, to the point where her mother set her to a convent in the Sovereignty of Altea at age twelve. Three years later, not much has changed. She feigns shyness around the high priestess, but she is infamous among her peers for being the one who dares to go just a bit further than they.

The Blades of Altea, to her, seemed to be the path to prove herself above her siblings, not to mention escape from the accursed Priestesses. In her words, she wants to be an awesome hero that saves people (and preferably live to lord it over her family).

Under his tutelage she learned how to soldier and wield a blade. When her Captain died in a raid she went into a frenzy killing many but not all. She spent the next 2 years hunting them and when she was finished she was left with a finely tuned skills and soon sold her services to anyone she thought the Captain would approved of.

The Blades of Altea found her in a bar finishing a contract and once finished she offered them her services. She had her own reasons for joining them but she was sincere in wanting to help them

RE: Fire Emblem: Gods of the Celestial Realm [SIGNUPS]
Name: Baron Balthaz of Vaye
Class: Knight
Bio: This old coot is named Balthaz, formerly a minor noble of the principality of Vaye in the Protectorate of Rua. He has an infatuation with authority and military leadership, gleaned mostly from stories and history books. He ruled his small territory for a while, but not particularly well- in attempting to build an army of knights to display his military power, he overtaxed his citizenry and was generally not well-liked.
Eventually, even his small platoon of soldiers became fed up with his posturing and belligerent ambitions, and staged a coup that ended with his exile. His considerably wiser lieutenant now rules his territory, and has been recognized by the Protectorate.

Baron Balthaz considers the mutiny an outrage, but has neither the manpower nor the political clout to restore himself to the throne. He seeks to join the Blades not to protect or serve any people, but to surround himself with powerful allies and rebuild his reputation, so that he can eventually reclaim his territory. (He is, however, willing to fake altruism and heroism to the best of his ability, if it means getting powerful warriors on his side.)

Balthaz is frail, and possesses little but his knightly armor since his exile. He carries an extremely impressive-looking golden lance- and he does his best to hide the fact that it's purely decorative and is more or less useless in combat due to its unreasonable weight and soft golden spearhead. Someone less preoccupied with prestige would presumably have discarded such a glittery toy a while ago, but the pride of the Baron of Vaye is not so easily swayed by common sense.

Class: Cavalier
Bio: Leaving home with just a horse and a lance, Walden hoped to become part of the Sothesian cavalry. Unfortunately, he didn't make the cut. Unable to face the shame of returning home, Walden started roaming the world and became a soldier for hire. Being an independent mercenary hasn't help his wallet much, but it has improved his combat and riding skills.

Hoping for more experience, fame, and fortune, Walden joined the Blades of Altea. His ultimate goal is to become a master horseman. That way Sothesia will have no join but to let him join their elite cavalry. Only time will tell if he reaches his goal. Provided it doesn't change that is.

Background:
Steve ain't a soldier by trade nor training. Actually a mason's son, if you gotta know. A long, long line of Eridan masons. Nearly as good as his old man, folks say.

But trowel for trowel, the business ain't paying what it used to. So he decides to sign up for a turn with the Blades. Maybe make a little coin to send back home.

He picked up the cheapest suit of armor he could find. Lucky him, it was on discount. Then, he sought out the Blades of Altea.

Image:[Image: stDdTVE.png]
Name: Ethrone
Class: Mercenary
Bio: Born to farmers in Sothesia, Ethrone was nearly slain by a bandit raid that took the life of his parents at the age of 8. He was saved by a company of mercenaries hired to quell the recent bandit incursions all along Sothesia's southern Rua border at the time. The commander took pity on the boy and adopted him, commenting he had always wanted a son.

For a decade he traveled with the mercenary company. At first doing only menial chores, such as laundry and cleaning equipment, but soon after took up the sword and fought for coin, just like his new father and brothers.

Now 20, he left the mercenary company that saved and raised him for the Blades, stating he would like to try his hand in sell-swordsmanship in unfamiliar company. He is a fairly new addition to the Blades of Altea.

"Is there something so wrong with trying to start all over again?"

Image: [Image: iyR4t8n.png]
Name: Aven
Class: Myrmidon
Bio: A very friendly swordsman who tries to friends with everyone in the Blades, but avoids royalty and nobles. He knows a great deal about a wide variety of things, especially in swordplay and history.
He talks very little about his life before the Blades, skillfully changing the subject when it is brought up. It seems he is trying to escape from a past life. Despite this, he is quite serious about working for the greater good with the Blades.
While many people do not doubt he is a good man now, some can't help but be a little suspicious of him. Some think that he has assassinated nobles, stolen treasures, and even used to be an ex-general of an army.
When he is alone he likes to sing songs.
He once let slip that he joined the Blades because "no one knew him there."
The one most likely to mumble in his sleep.

Name: Svare
Class: Mercenary
Bio: Svare was a sell sword in Pelia. He did some solo work but mostly like to travel with a group of sell swords called The Lances, a group mostly made up of lance wielding cavaliers. Svare had made it into their number by his sheer strength and skill. But he made one fatal mistake that got many of the soldiers killed. He was then thrown to the streets. The stories of his failure had spread, and rumors were whispered about through the town. That he had let them into a field of ax wielders. That he ran them off of a cliff. Svare knew the truth but told no one, keeping it to himself, letting it eat him from the inside.

He joined the Blades so he could finally get back to the battlefield and prove his worth as a mercenary.

Name: Cirsi
Class: Fighter
Bio: Cirsi cited her reason for joining the Blades as a search for "true love and adventure!" which summed up her personality fairly well. Despite her innocent and chipper demeanor, Cirsi certainly packs a punch. Of course, like a proper young lady, she refuses to reveal the secrets of her training. Those who ask merely get a saucy "That's a se~cret!" ...Or an axe to the head, depending on where you stand with her.

As far as her history is concerned, the most anyone knows is that she was part of another mercenary group that disbanded shortly after the death of their leader.

The most likely to become obsessed.

Name: Lemmock
Class: Knight (or Cavalier)
Bio: A knight who once served under (and idolized) Lord Feren. He was born in and lived in Peliangarde until his 10th year of service to Feren, when he started to disagree with Feren's choices. He was then assigned to a post near the Pelia-Sothesia border where he eventually decided to run away from his duties as a knight and live in the outskirts of Altamea. While living there, he heard about the Blades of Altea and became very curious...
